Its very refreshing to get a product that you have never used before and feel like you don't need to take classes at the local college to learn how to use it. With no digital controls or settings. Simply turn on the on/off switch, rotate the mechanical knob timer to the number of minutes suggested by the owner's manual based on the number of square feet in the area being treated. Unfortunately summer is not the best of times to treat a house, as opening up and ventilating treated space afterward is very important for heath and safety. So far the best test has been on a car interior, one that I sweat profusely in once or twice a week from workouts. I removed a clip-on air freshener before treating the car. After running the machine there was no hint of any remaining scent from the freshener, and the inside had zero aroma of any type, good or bad, so it had obviously neutralized any previous smell. I was a little surprised that the air volume coming from the fan did not seem like a lot, but I have no way of measuring it to confirm so I have to assume it is as advertised. Besides I was not very comfortable sticking my hand right in the ozone flow and it probably was not a very good idea. I was hopeful that placing some horrific smelling shoes in the car before treatment would yield some bearable shoes, but it was not to be. While I had hoped, I had read that you can't assume ozone will remove odors or odor causing whatever from random items. So I am not really overly disappointed as that was a little too much to ask for. However that is not to say that it can not or does not take care of odor sources on or in other items. Perhaps the car seats' fabric was a source of odors and it eliminated it..... hard to say. But, it eliminated car odor. Based on that I believe it will do wonders for a house where fish or onions were just fried, for example. Just be prepared to go elsewhere during treatment and a suitable ventilation period.

This review is rating the product based on a visual inspection and reading the users manual. Since it arrived during the peak of summer in a southern climate, doing a full test at this time is out of the question. The ozone generator shipped in a custom foam lined box and arrived in perfect condition. It is a sturdy little machine with four rubber feet on the bottom and a carry handle on top. It has a simple to operate timer dial on the front and a toggle power switch on the back. The detached cord is a heavy duty three pronged cord that is about 57 inches long. It also comes with a very simple user manual without a lot of details and a DO NOT ENTER door hanger. To operate, you must close up your home, remove all occupants (human and animal) and all living plants. Plug in the generator near the source of the odor you wish to eliminate, set the timer based on the square feet of the area, and push the power button on your way out. Don't forget to take your own source of timer and the door hanger. After the allotted time has elapsed, open all the doors and windows you can to provide the best ventilation. After you have thoroughly aired your house out for about an hour, you can bring your plants and animals back in. You can also bring in your family members if you wish. If you are expecting your in-laws, you may choose to leave the door hanger up. Once our temperatures have cooled adequately, I will be giving this ozone generator a thorough test run and updating this review.

Pros: Simple operation with mechanical timer and on/off switch, no complex controls. Sturdy build with rubber feet and carry handle, arrives in secure foam-lined box. Effectively neutralizes odors in car interiors, eliminating lingering smells like air fresheners. Easy-to-follow manual and included door hanger enhance safe use. Heavy-duty 57-inch cord adds convenience. Cons: Not ideal for summer use due to ventilation needs for safety. Limited effectiveness on deeply embedded odors, like smelly shoes. Low air volume from fan, though output is hard to measure.

I have used ozone generators of one sort of another over the years. This one keeps up with all I have used. It puts out a pretty saturating volume in a short time. I have used this in a closed room, in an open area of the house which has open access to several rooms, and enclosed inside an SUV. In each experimental use the machine provided effective saturation of the environment to oxidize organic odor causing materials. There is a timer to set how long you want to have it on and the timer has a "hold' function. I have found I like to use the "hold" function and I use a remote controlled plug so I can set it on and turn it off a half hour or so before I intend to open up the area for ventilation. This works well for me. If you have never used these type of machines before it does leave an interesting smell after it is ventilated out the first or maybe even the second time. There is nothing wrong just ventilate well and it will dissipate. Speaking of ventilation, make sure all people, pets, and any living plants you would like to continue living are removed from the area being treated until the area has been properly ventilated after the use. Overall, this is an effective tool for any home or office to get rid of musty or other persistent odors.
