The skates started off OK. The boot is comfortable and as expected. Abec 7 bearings installed so definitely a starter skate. While skating on the rink, my child noticed it was loose at the front of one skate. The entire brace holding the front 2 skates fell apart. The lock nut was missing the lock cushion in the nut. So nothing was keeping it from unscrewing. Trying to find it sent me to various places because the nut was a metric measurement . Napa had the metric nuts. The bag was a nice addition but completely fell apart after 2 carries. I decided to change out all the wheels,bearings, nuts. I changed the shoe strings and tightened the wheel bars. So far, no more issues . Keep in mind, the base bar is plastic so again this is uncommon and we will see how it goes. It may be a good enough starter for a limited time. Just make sure all wheeled pieces are properly installed. He will grow out of them so they will be temporary . Good enough if you are willing to inspect before/ after each skating session. ... show more
