these are heavy in weight but I think it is better as they are better for control I feel . My 13yr old loves these!! I figure it would be a one use items as she is older but she loves going to the skate rink with her younger sister, gets her up and moving and off the machines. I am thinking of ordering the same for myself ... show more

For their price, these skates are about what you expect. If you're like me and want beginning skates, these would be a good purchase. The bottom parts are all plastic, however, so I'm not expecting these to last long. If you want durable beginning skates, I recommend checking out Moxi beach bunnies (around $300 but worth the price). The wheels turn nicely, but the trunks are very tight. An additional purchase of a y3 may be necessary if you don't yet have one. Happy skating! ... show more

Years ago I was an Avid Quad Skater excellent I might add. However I haven’t put on a pair of Skates in over 20 years. I’m in my 50’, since the Fad has returned with places to go. I decided to get back into Skating. These Skates are great, quality , value and most importantly falling for me can be critical. The rollers grab the surface, & seemed to help with balance.
