These skates are nice, have a paper thin liner and don’t see this bringing comfort as time goes by! But, I plan to put my own thicker shoe liner in them! Lots of toe room, which will good for thicker socks! Colors are beautiful, style is to my liking, wheels are big, thick and substantial. Will get good use, before having to replace them… I’m gonna need to purchase safety pads & gloves! Very slippery on tile and carpet, besides I haven’t worn a pair of skates in over 30 yrs, but I am looking forward to learning how to skate again! It’s a bit scary, especially since I’m at least what feels like 4 to 5 feet above my floor and I don’t need to hurt myself! Pads, gloves and socks is on the list of future purchases! The one problem I have is, I requested to have my package delivered in a Amazon package and it was delivered In its original packaging! Didn’t like that… Too many people are stealing off your door steps these days and that’s the reason I requested the package be in an Amazon package! I bought these after many years not owning a pair of speed skates. They are comfortable and made of high quality leather and come with a good sturdy set of wheels. The only issue I’ve found is the tongue of the shoe laces seems to move to the side when in use if the laces aren’t extremely tight.

    • Amazing Beginner Skates!

The last time I had a pair of skates on my feet, I was 7 years old, I fell, scraped the heck out of my knees, and I never put them back on again. So that's the level of experience we're working with here. I've been determined to learn, though, because skating has become such a "thing" and just vibing on a pair of skates looks so fun. Because of my lack of experience, and uncertainty of whether I'd even enjoy skating or even COULD skate, my budget was pretty low (but not "break the wheels on the first use" kind of low). I decided on these skates and I have to say, if you've gotten this far into the review and thought "hey, that sounds like me!" then these skates are PERFECT. They're true to size, I always wear a size 8 and the 8's are a Cinderella-like fit. They're super comfortable, even though the tongue poked my right foot a little bit on the first use but softened up almost immediately. The wheels were just a tad bit too tight when I took them out of the box, but it's easy enough to loosen if you have the right tool (like a socket wrench or skate tool, not included with the skates). They've been an absolute breeze to learn on; with the help of a few YouTube videos I went from clutching on to everything around me for dear life to looking like I kind of know what I'm doing. My wife is actually the one who got them as her other skates are no more, she was nervous at first because usually does inline but she loves the way they look feel and glide while skating. So, so far great experience from ordering to shipment to actual product.

The trucks are made of plastic. I'm a beginner, but I heard that's a no-no. By putting weight on one side, I was able to lean the shoe portion dangerously close to the wheel, which would cause it to sputter/stop, and thus crash. I didn't wear them our, but didn't want to risk it.
