The table itself is a good, sturdy piece of furniture for those of us on a budget. My SOLE complaint is the manual does not address Part "Q" which looks to be safety bumpers for the relatively sharp corners of the top of the table (presumably to protect children and pets from accidental run-ins). But, that is not why I felt compelled to write this review. I am writing this review (my 1st, if I am remembering correctly) because my table had a missing threaded insert. I notified Rolanstar customer service on November 5th, and, after clarifying the problem by email, I received an entirely new table to use for the missing inserts as the inserts were back-ordered and customer service did not want me to have to wait for a (likely) 10 cent part! The replacement table arrived on my doorstep yesterday, November 8th. Now THAT is customer service. I will absolutely do business with Rolanstar in the future. I love the look and size of this table! The storage area is great for hiding my mail and other small items. I put this together without any problems! It seems sturdy and I don't have any issues with the lift. I was also able to use my own baskets underneath that are 9" in height! The only thing I wish it had was stickers to hide the screw holes on each side. Other than that, I would recommend this coffee table. ... show more

Husband put this together without much of my assistance. Was looking for one of these that had good reviews on ease of assembly. Every once in a while, you’ll get one that has assembly issues but this brand has a good reputation and great designs. I was not disappointed!

Assembly was very simple given the instruction book but it feels cheap and the lift top isn’t as smooth of an open as I’d hope. However, this only cost $100 compared to the $500-$600 ones at a furniture store so I can’t complain and it looks cute.

I'll start with the good. This cute little table is compact, very elegant (I got the rustic brown) and has great storage space for magazines etc. that helps keep clutter off the surface and things within reach. The bad: it is NOT easy to assemble, at least for one person. The instructions are pretty clear but there are so many steps and it is hard to put pieces together evenly. It took me a good 2.5-3 hours. And it is NOT the sturdiest thing. The table itself is sturdy enough, if you don't put a ton of weight on it, but the moving top is so flimsy. Anyway, now that the assembly is done, I am reasonably happy with it (except the flimsy top), but you get what you pay for in quality with this one, for sure. ... show more

It's what you would expect. Sharp edges and color just like the picture. It's taking a while to get used to it but that is more of a preference, we used to have a bigger ottoman.
