I read several reviews and was a bit apprehensive about install but purchased because I had a wooden clothing rod that snapped and tore out of the wall. Bought this to go across entire width of closet hoping the metal would be more sturdy than the prior wooden rod. Upon receiving this, I did swap out the screws and drywall anchors for a slightly longer size screw and screw-in drywall anchors (width and grip preferred). I was able to install the wall hardware and the poll by myself. Immediately, I hung my entire wardrobe back up without the slightest bend, creak or noticeable strain. Love how easy the clothes hangers slide over the surface as I use plastic and metal hangers depending on the material/type of clothing. I was concerned it wouldn't be strong enough but it is. I previously had a wooden dowel in the closet that became warped from the weight, but this seems to be much better. Of course time will tell but so far so good
