I wasn't "blown away" with the appearance when I unboxed these and they didn't become more attractive after I installed them, but these are closet rods and they actually don't look "bad" at all. These come with small tabs on one of the mounting ends of each rod. I don't know what these are for, but they interfere with simply attaching the ends to a flat wall. I was able to easily bend each one under using pliers and after that, had no trouble mounting them. The fact that these are adjustable proved to be exactly what I needed for my small closet and once mounted, they are perfectly sturdy with no rattle or wiggle. Not that they're installed and filled with hangars, I don't really see any issues with the overall appearance. I'm pretty pleased with them.

My crappy secondhand wardrobe came with a super dinky little wooden dowel for a closet rod, which couldn't hold hardly any weight. I installed this instead, and it's perfect. I literally couldn't have asked for a better option. Even though the walls of my wardrobe are made of the cheapest particle board, it stays securely attached and holds my clothes (about half of a normal closet's worth) with zero problem. I like the way each end has multiple screws, to distribute the weight and reduce stress on the walls of what it's attaching to. I have it almost as small as it will go width wise, which may be helping with its overall sturdiness, but honestly it seems well made and durable. It's been in there for six months and it's still going strong, and I don't expect to have any issues with it.

This adjustable, telescoping closet rod has a solid build and installation is easy. The ends have a tab that you can use to add extra support if you're mounting over a piece of wood. The tabs are easily bendable but one side comes pre-bent to be flush and when you bend it back it's easy to snap off. Personally I didn't need the tabs so I just snapped both tabs off. Not much to complain about, it simply works. Side note: I ordered two and on one of them the plastic packaging was torn - usually not a big problem but the screws are held in by this plastic packaging so I had to locate some extra screws around the house. Not a big deal though.

Got this to replace the cheap wooden rod in my closet that bent terribly with five to seven jackets on it (literally a very gentle U). I have tried multiple solutions including nailing a rod support onto the wall to support the wooden rod, only for the wooden rod to bend more and took the rod support with it. Apparently the wall on my closet is too weak to install a rod support too. I have looked for multiple solutions before getting finding this. This steel rod does just what my wooden rod can't-- not only does it support the weight of my jackets, it only bend minimally (also because it's adjustable). But that's normal for all rods that do not have a wall support to distribute the weights of the clothes evenly across the rod. A note of caution is that you would want to have a sturdy support to which the ends of the rod can nailed into it. Fortunately my closet comes with two pieces of hard wood on the wall to where the end of the rod were put in between. So make sure your closet meets this requirement. Also, it's best to consider getting a rod support (if the wall of your closet is strong enough) if you are looking to adjust the rod longer to its maximum adjustable length (96") just to make sure you are not overstraining the rod. I got this as I was only looking for an 80" rod. You might want to look elsewhere if you need a much longer rod as stretching the rod all the way to more than 90" is going to put a lot of strain on the rod and likely going to bend it by a lot. I'm happy with my purchase and think it's a reasonable investment

These look exactly like the originals in my 1960s ranch, so great visual match for my needs. On the downside, they're not nearly as sturdy as the originals. Metal is maybe half as thick. Adequate, but not ideal. The product's weakest feature is quality control. Of the two I bought, one was bent badly enough that the two halves would not slide together. I had to use a solid metal rod to work out the dent from the inside. The other one had one of the mounting brackets completely detached. Since the method of attachment was a flared end on the rod, I had to thread it through the hole and use needle nose pliers to bend the edges outward to secure it. Screws were also missing from one of the packages. I had screws on hand that would work, so no biggie. But they should be included. So in the end, I was able to make them work and am satisfied with the results. But it was more trouble than it should have been.

I know this sounds crazy, but I had purchased multiple closet rods before finding one that worked. Frankly, it seems like many manufacturers use the cheapest materials possible, and I kept running into the problem where too much weight would cause the rod to bow. So I was pleased to find that this one (at a fraction of what I paid for other products), is made from sturdy metal that doesn't bend even when pressure is applied. I've had it installed in my closet for three years, where it's held my coats and dresses without incident.
