Description

The ridgefield collection combines the comfort of a walking shoe with the look of an everyday casual—so you never have to compromise. With san crispino construction for heel stability, generous collar and tongue padding, removable footbed, and a strobel construction build for forefoot flexibility, you’ll enjoy all day, every day support. Rockport has always been one step ahead of the times, believing the perfect shoe has not yet been invented. This positive dissatisfaction compels them to constantly improve upon their footwear. Founded in 1971, they were the first company to use advanced athletic technologies in casual shoes to achieve lightweight comfort, and the first company to engineer walking comfort in dress and casual shoes.

  • Sole Separated within 2 Months. First bad Amazon experience.
Size: 11.5 Wide Color: Black
2 months, and the sole of the left shoe separated from the upper. I love Rockports and have always sought them out. I've had five or six pairs over the last decade. I'm always happy to pay a premium for quality and until this purchase, I associated quality with Rockport. I'm extremely saddened to no longer be able to trust Rockport shoes. Right now, it's too late to return, with no option from Amazon if the product is defective. At least expected a way to contact the manufacturer. I hope to be able to get a replacement, but for now, I'm at work, walking on a bad pair of shoes that probably won't last the day. I'll be barefoot soon. For Amazon, I have been trying out buying shoes and clothing, but now realize that if there's a defect and it shows up after a short while, I have no recourse, or none that I can readily see. It would be nice that in the case where the product really is defective, that you make it easier to show how one can contact the manufacturer. ... show more

  • Poor quality
Size: 10.5 Wide Color: Black
I used to be a fan of Rockport shoes however, over the past two years, their workmanship has become poor. I think I can correlate this with their production move to another country. Don't get me wrong, neither was done in the United States, however, the most recent move has given them lousy quality. My shoes, are falling apart because whatever glue might be in there is not holding them anymore. I thought I would give him another chance, but I can't afford giving these chances anymore. My next purchase will not be a Rockport. I'm sorry it has to be this way. ... show more

  • Rockports are just junk now
Size: 8 Wide Color: Brown
I have been purchasing this model of Rockport shoe for ten years. Each pair lasts about two years as I wear them every day at work, and they have always been extremely comfortable from the very stop with soft leather and very supportive insole and sole. Last week I went to purchase a pair and found that nobody in my area carries them any longer. I then ordered a pair online and found out why - this is NOT the same shoe. The leather was thinner and stiff, causing painful pressure my arthritic toe joint. The sole feels cheap and doesn't look like it would last very long. The finish of the shoe looks cheap and the upper was the worst. This looked like someone saw a pair once and tried to make a knock-off on a budget of about $10 (and I wouldn't pay that much for these!). I ordered 8EE, which I have been wearing for that entire 10 years, but these were a bit smaller than usual (I've always been able to wear them out of the store with no break-in period needed). I'm done buying Rockports. Off to look for someone who makes good quality shoes. Too bad, because they were the most comfortable shoes I ever owned, including countless walking shoes, court shoes, hiking shoes and even my Nike sandals, which will probably be on my feet when I die. ... show more

  • Very comfortable but not durable after six months of use
Size: 13 Wide Color: Black
This is my second pair of Rockport Eureka Walking Shoes. Both sets developed the same problems within six months of daily business use (mostly sitting behind a computer). The threads near the toe gave out and became unsightly in the right shoe of both pairs. The laces also separated (inner and outer) in both pairs. The newest pair shows cracking in the upper (which I had incorrectly thought was leather until reading these reviews) and the soles are developing separation from the rest of the shoe. Obviously the quality is not what I had expected of Rockport and I will not purchase this style again. I do find the shoes to be quite comfortable and helpful for my plantar fascitis, but for the price I expected them to be more durable. I've attached two photos of the shoes after less than one year of use. ... show more

  • I loved the "old" model
Size: 12 Wide Color: Brown
I have been using this model for about 10 years. I worn out at least two pairs during that time. I loved the "old" model, which had an extremely comfortable sole (it felt literally like walking on air). However, I reached the point where my old Eurekas were falling apart and had to find replacements. I was very glad to find them in Amazon (particularly because they had the Wide version). Having used Eurekas f(in normal size 12) or so long, I did not hesitate to buy them (in fact I bought both brown and black versions). I was expecting the 12 W version to fit even better (I have wide feet) than the old 12 Normal. I was to be disappointed. The first thing I noticed is that the new 12W version is not wider than the old 12 normal. I did not think much of it because since they were of the same width as the old model, I assume they would fit as well. They did not. Another important feature is the sole. The new sole is not as magnificent as the old one (the cushioning effect in my old shoes is much better than the one in the new ones I bought). Again, I did not think much of it. So confident I was that these Eurekas would work that I took them with me to Mexico to wear them at a conference. Big mistake. As soon I walked with them for a day, they started bothering my feet and I had no choice but keep wearing them. Apparently the upper leather is not as soft as the one in the old shoes that the rigidity of the sole and the narrow width created havoc in my feet. As soon as I return to the US, I'll return the pair I did not use. I am disappointed. ... show more

  • This company has been through a lot of changes...
Size: 9 Wide Color: Brown
I wore Rockports almost exclusively for about 8 years, from 2007 to 2015 when I retired. As a construction Project Manager I walked 5 or 10 miles a day most days, and wore out probably 10 pair of shoes like this. During that span of time, I noticed a gradual deterioration of the quality of the shoes, and their level of comfort. I still have the last two pair I bought back then, one of them is still usable, the other is pretty much done. So...this new pair seems more comfortable than the last 2015 shoe I had bought, and the quality seems a little better. After reading all the reviews of the India-made Rockports coming apart, I was a little apprehensive about ordering, but as soon as I put them on and walked in them for a few days, it was clear that these are a little better than the ones I bought seven years ago. 5 stars for now, comfy and sturdy. If the soles fall off, I'll edit this review to reflect that, but so far, these seem like the old, good Rockports I wore for many years. ... show more
