These were purchased at the last minute for trip. They are fully functional but a little clunky. Does not have swivel tires which I knew they didn't have. The materials is not very durable, the airline tore the side of one and I am not able to repair it, so that one will be used as a storage suitcase now. But do recommend if you need a cheap set on a whim. You get what you pay for I guess. ... show more

I recently purchased the Rockland Journey Softside Upright Luggage Set, and boy do I have some thoughts! First off, let's talk about the design. The charcoal color looks sleek and professional, which was great for my business trip. However, I have to admit that I was a bit disappointed that the luggage didn't come with flames painted on the side like the name "Rockland Journey" implies. I was really hoping that my luggage would give off a "bad boy" vibe, but I guess I'll just have to settle for looking like a regular old adult. Now, onto the actual functionality of the luggage. I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised with how much these bags can expand! I managed to fit my entire wardrobe into the largest bag (although I do have to admit that I had to sit on it to get it to close). The smaller bags were perfect for carrying my shoes and toiletries, but I did have a bit of trouble finding a spot for my inflatable dinosaur costume. I mean, it's not like I was planning on wearing it on the plane or anything, but it would have been nice to have the option. One issue that I did have with these bags is that the zippers can be a bit finicky. On one occasion, I found myself pulling on the zipper so hard that I accidentally ripped off the entire handle. I guess I'll have to start doing more bicep curls at the gym if I want to use these bags without fear of destroying them. Overall, I have mixed feelings about the Rockland Journey Softside Upright Luggage Set. On one hand, they're spacious and look pretty good. On the other hand, they don't have flames on them and the zippers are a bit delicate. I'd give them 2 out of 5 stars, which is a shame because I was really hoping for something with a bit more pizzazz. If you're looking for a reliable set of luggage that won't set the world on fire (literally or figuratively), then these might be the bags for you.
