Description

Sure-Grip ROCK GT-50 Roller Skate The GT-50 skate package is a perfect beginner skate for children to adults. Fully functioning roller skate. Features a synthetic leather boot, ROCK plate, GT-50 swirl wheels, ABEC -5 bearings, and a Carrera speed toe stop. Ideal for Recreation skating and beginner roller derby. Some larger skates (size 14 and 15) will come with an aluminum Super X plate. Designed on mens sizing so women should size down one size. The ROCK skate is a little widder than most other skates that we make but no other skate matches this level of comfort. Sotck indoor wheels offer plenty of grip but still the roll you want. If you are looking for some performance you might want to upgrade the wheels and bearings. Non marking indoor black toe stop is adjustable using an open ended wrench that can be purchased from your local roller skating center. Very easy to do at home by yourself or have the local skate technition help you. Front view Split vinyl toe box with adjustable strap near the top of the boot. A straight cut toe stop will offer more useability when skating. Black non marking rubber toe stop will help you stop on a dime but can also be uses to help start. Back view Back vinyl reinforced cover for more protection. Rolled collar for added comfort and boot loop designed to help put skates on. Plate mounted toward back of boot for added stability, wheels are placed slightly behind the ball of the foot. Sure-Grip metal trucks for more strength. Solid steel hardware with urethane cushions. indoor wheels made using only the best material for increased speed. Boot laces all the way to top with secure strap that reaches all the way to the heel for more support. Cushion tongue with comfort padded linging.

    • Very Comfortable!
I was a competitive artistic roller skater in my younger days and continued to use my competitive roller skates throughout my adulthood. As my feet changed I could no longer wear my beloved roller skates (wide feet and Morton's Neuroma, very painful if shoe does not fit). Knowing that quality roller skates makes all the difference in a quality and fun experience, I was very reluctant to purchase a roller skate without ankle support or NON-leather boot also worried about the width since most shoes/boots are sold in Medium width. These skates exceeded my expectations! Bought a half size larger so I could use my support inserts and also allow for the correct socks, WOW they fit perfectly and have just enough support around the ankle to enjoy my rusty skills. I don't throw my self around the rink anymore but really enjoy these skates. The wheels, trucks and plates are solid, the boots are flexible, padded (great for sensitive feet) and lace up perfectly. Plus, they are very stylish! I would recommend for beginners and advanced skaters alike. I selected the gray boots, just love the matching marbled wheels. Nice Job, Sure Grip! I have always loved quad skating, but desperately needed a new pair of skates. I started my search with a stereotypical high boot, which was an absolute delight (/s) since it seems as though everyone discovered roller skating during the pandemic. I eventually found a pair of Chaya Melrose skates through a different vendor. I immediately discovered several problems with those skates. Although the wheels are described as being for outdoor use, they actually say "Indoor" on the wheel and there is no way they are actually 78A. Even after swapping out the wheels with actual outdoor wheels, the bigger problem turned out to be the fixed (bolt-on) stopper. It's placed so far up that it's impossible to use it without contorting your leg and there is no way to adjust it. I decided I needed a different pair of skates, but wasn't going to invest in another pair unless it came with an adjustable stopper. Weirdly, it's hard to find a dedicated outdoor skates without a fixed stopper. There are the Moxi Lollis, but they are not only impossible to find right now (literally), they have a notoriously slim boot. I have wide feet (D) and I really didn't fancy the idea of having to break in skate boots. On a lark, I decided to try a roller derby skate with a low boot since I already have my own outdoor wheels. I decided to go with these Sure-Grips since they are highly rated for beginners. Right out of the box, I was really excited about the fit. I swapped the out the indoor wheels and stoppers for Sure-Grip Boardwalk wheels and Jupiter toe stops and took them for a spin. I loved how the lower boot felt as I skated on my bumpy street! I couldn't have been happier with having taken a chance on a different type of boot. Sadly, I only got the test them out a couple of times over the course of 24 hours before the boot came apart. As you can see in the pictures, the interior of the back of the boot pulled away from the exterior. Considering they were brand-new, it was unacceptable, so I returned them.     • Great Skates - My first pair. Sizing advice for big feets included in review

I've put about 20 miles on these skates so far and I love them. These are my first pair of skates. I bought them to use on the streets of San Francisco in addition to roller rinks. The wheels that come with this package are for indoor use only. I bought outdoor wheels and better bearings than the Abec 5's that come with the skates to use outdoors. I'm a size 13 shoe. I printed the sizing template out and my foot was right at the edge of 13 on the Sure Grip sizing chart. I went up to a size 14 and they fit perfectly. The padding inside the skates is wonderful and hasn't lost its cushion yet but I've had em on for maybe 3 hours so far...padding may eventually compress and lose its cushion. If and when it does a pair of thick sox will be my plan to remedy any looseness after use. There's lacing patterns you can find online to remedy any issues that may arise due to the unique shape of your foot (heel lift, toenail pain, etc.) Very happy with my purchase so far. ... show more

Boot was comfortable , I baught a pair and a year later the sole started to come apart from boot . I glued back together multiple times with the proper adhesive yet it still continued to come apart . I'm sure it was due to the fact I could not get the epoxy under too too far . But I'm an aggressive skater who was just getting back into it . My sons pair however did the same thing his are Maby 3 months old at best , than began to do the same "only worse "!😞!😒. He is Maby 65 lbs and 9 years old at that time . They started to do this about 2 weeks in but only a hairline was visable . Yet now 1/2 the entire boot lengthwise is detached . The local skate center I skate at has discontinued to sell this brand . I will not say there name but it's a good rink . Good floor and skaters . ... show more

As someone who recognizes quality skates - these are AMAZING. Bought 1 size up to account for socks and padding. The wheels are so cool!     • Awful skates
Skates were not durable at all and started coming apart after only a few uses...mind you this happened with two pairs as we returned the first pair and were told that them falling apart was rare but the second pair started coming apart quicker than the first.
