I am not tech hardware savvy, but wanted to be able to connect another phone to my router. It wouldn't be easy to run another phone wire in the basement, but found a thicker wire already there. I didn't know if I could use that wire to connect to a typical phone wire. A little research on Amazon and I learned about RJ11 and RJ45 adapters and found these connectors along with a wire conncector that had both RJ11 and RJ45 ends. It worked! ... show more

I like these because of the shielding. However, I've had to cut wires and re-terminate the ends because the connector got stuck.; at least one I couldn't get out, even with pliers. Some of the money saved with the lower price was lost fixing stuck cables. I may or may not buy more of these sometime.
