I recently exiled myself to sleeping in a room with sunrise facing bay windows so my elderly aunt could move in and have her own room. This purchase was more a necessity than anything else. I looked over all the available bed tents on Amazon, but settled on this mostly for the light dampening promises and sturdy looking design. It did not disappoint. The setup was easy. I was really impressed with the quality of the poles and tent material. Temperature/breath-ability is not a problem for me. I leave the side facing the wall as just the mesh fabric and fully zip up the others at night without any issue. Comes with some simple pockets. I don't think they would hold too much weight, but I use them for my earplug case and to hook my glasses on. As for if it keeps it dark enough to sleep...I wake up before the sun most days, but I did sleep in to 8am a couple of morning ago. And I will randomly crawl into my "cave" in the middle of the day for a nap. It does a great job of reducing light in a room with large bay windows that face east. In bright, sunny Florida, no less. This tent combined with a decent curtain (as seen in my photo) makes it even better! Overall, very pleased. Product actually feels worth the price. Feb 29, 2024 9:01 PM Hi, I normally don’t take time to write reviews but this is an item that is necessary for me to have peace of mind. My son is nonverbal and has Autism, level 3. What makes him Level 3 is his dangerous behaviors (wandering/escaping his bed/slamming his head on walls and windows and floors/ rocking etc. To me, these are all manageable to an extent. Except of course the wandering as I know if my son were to get outside of our home while we are asleep, we would likely never see him alive again. We have tried to get the Medical Safety bed and have been denied over and over, they are anywhere from 10-18k which makes keeping our son safe very difficult and unaffordable. I’m ranting here just to say that we bought this in hopes our son would like it and stay in bed. We are on night 3 and he has slept safe and sound without escaping his bed and I have gotten sleep for the first time this week. This is our second attempt of a DIY safety bed as he ripped holes in the other. We are hoping this bed continues to work as well as it has the first 3 days. Thank you. ... show more

My son isn't a great sleeper and wants to feel enclosed in his sleep space; it makes him feel safe. We got this tent and he is super excited about it. The two of us were able to put it together (he's 11) but it was a struggle. Instructions could be more clear (pro tip, thread the poles into the tent first) and they seem just a tiny bit too long or the tent is a tiny bit to short because securing the last side is a fight and the fabric pulls which I am concerned will lead to tearing at some point. It's also too long for his bed frame which others have stated. If he didn't have a footboard (or headboard) it would have slotted neatly into the bed frame, the mattress would have sat down in it, and all would be well. But instead it's basically sitting on top of the mattress and I have it zip tied to the headboard. I won't take a star because I didn't listen to the other reviews that told me to check the headboard/footboard. I am taking a star because I'm concerned with the bowed poles and the stretched fabric. I believe it will give him what he needs and I admit, I'm a little jealous. It makes a nice escape cave 🙂 ... show more

I got this for my son who is Autistic. It did NOT fit on the metal bunk bed but we had a "cubby" and it fit in there perfectly. It has pockets inside and even a hook to hang a night light. It took me 5 minutes to put up. The bottom of the tent goes under the mattress to keep it in place. It is great and he already loves it. He got in it tonight and passed out. I will recommend to others. Update: He's had it for awhile now and he still gets excited to sleep in it. We bought a kids toy camping lantern and it works great in it. He sleeps through the night and no more falling out of the bed. It is also a great place for when he is overwhelmed to just escape for awhile. I have already recommended it to an Autism group I am in on Facebook. Well worth the money!! ... show more
