Scope is very crisp and I like the simplicity of it. I sighted it in at 50 yards on a at-15 300 blackout in two shots. The only thing is I would like the battery to last longer, but it does last as long as it’s advertised around 4-5 hours. I have 5 other thermal scopes and I would highly recommend this one overall.

They were in Atlanta for the NRA convention today. I was only there to compare thermals. I went to all their competitors who stayed at the convention until the host basically said over the intercom gtfo. RIX was packing it in early and so were other companies I wanted to get to, such as Fostech, but no luck. The prices are all roughly the same on the 640s across all manufacturers but seeing them in person for the first time I could easily see the difference between them all. Pulsar was the most money with the worst looks. DNT obviously has the market cornered with a competitive price on a superior product.. plus the ballistic calculator is a game changer with the one shot zeroing. I'll have to assume RIX is trash if they can't stay at a convention they paid to be at for the entire time that was bargained for. Are they ashamed of their product, got better things to do than work, no time for answering the general public's questions? Who knows. Every thermal vendor that I talked to today was passionate about being there today. They thanked me for stopping by and asking questions and getting all handsy with their goods. So glad I did not buy my first thermal before comparing in person. If RIX decided to go back next year after leaving early this year it would be weird but I'd give them a look and possibly amend this review. I'm not holding my breath though. Plus I'll already have the DNT 635 😂

I’ve had my storm s6 for couple months now and I love it. You could not find a better thermal with 640 resolution for less than 3k. Best 640 resolution thermal in this price range!

The max zoom is 8x on this scope...pretty good pic quality but when you use the PIP feature it reduces the view to base mag which is 2x...the PIP zoom feature has a very small dot that you cant see or change ...which makes the feature useless...so be aware if you need to zoom beyond 8x you wont be able to see an aim point...hopefully this is fixed in an firmware update

To begin, If you're on the fence about buying thermal, and have never used one of these devices before - they are absolutely incredible. The ability to look out over acres and acres and instantly be able to see every unobscured, living creature feels like a super power. When I received my S6 I was immediately impressed by the quality of the packaging, clear directions, and simple user interface. A quick 5min skim through the manual and you have a pretty decent understanding of the scope. The batteries came partially charged, so I was able to turn the device on and test it out. Everything worked find and the resolution of the 640 sensor is min blowing. I'm able to clearly distinguish between livestock, humans, varmints, etc. within 400 yards. Beyond 400 yards you can absolutely still see thermal signatures, and depending on what they are, can still identify them, but at that range it starts becoming more difficult. For example, the difference between a dog and a coyote might not be obvious. However, you still would be able to determine a human from say, a cow. Customer Service Experience: The only reason I'm not giving this device 5 stars, is that after about a week and half of regular use almost every single night, in wet, foggy, cold conditions - I noticed condensation droplets beginning to form on the interior OLED display, between the lense and the display. I decided to call the customer service number listed on the RIX website, and on the third ring, was talking to Dalton - an actual human and head of the customer service department. The interaction was great. I explained the issue and expressed that I was worried I may have broken a seal or something similar. Dalton apologized and Immediately sent me a return label to ship it back to them to inspect. The scope was returned to me in about a week, problem solved. Dalton believed that humidity may have entered the device during production, and assured me that it was perfectly safe to be used in the rain, etc. Overall, the scope is amazing. It's just simply a super power. However, the customer service experience is what confirmed my hope that I selected the right brand of thermal optic. After the great customer service experience, I purchased a second unit, the S3, and am equally impressed. TLDR: Purchase in confidence knowing that the guys at RIX care about their product and their customer.
