The bed heats up well, has a soft cover, features variable temperature gauge and variable timer. But the latter two features make it impractical for me. The bed automatically shuts off after a set period of time. When I turn it back on, I have to reset both the temperature and the timer. So it's not practical for me to have in a place where it receives ongoing use from my pets. Every 12 hours maximum I have to turn it on again and reset the timer from 6 to 12 hours and the temperature fro. 120 to 105. The only way it can be practical for ongoing use is if I plug the pet bed into a separate 24-hour timer, cycle it on and off 4 times a day, and accept the default settings of 6 hours and 120 degrees every time it turns on. ... show more

I have a little 15 year old Yorkie ..she sits on this all day. I even have to move it into the bedroom at night on the bed. When we travel, I have to put it in her car seat. My younger dogs love it too! She just hogs it.

It has been -30 at night in Minnesota. You can feel the cold even though the house is set to 70 degrees. The cats took to the mats instantly with one pinch of catnip. I shave my cats once a year and they will really appreciate the mats for that. The brown cat got too warm so I need to use a lower setting than most reviews.     • Nice product, could use some improvement

The mat works nicely. I do have two suggestions. First, it doesn't keep the last settings. So every time you power it on, you have to reset it to your desired settings. Given that I use it nightly, I always need it set the same. The second is that it would be really nice if when powered on, it would start on the saved settings. That would allow people to use it with a smart plug that powers on at 10PM and powers off at 6AM (as an example). Otherwise for my wish list, it's a nice product and works as expected. ... show more

Our Cat is elderly and noticed she would land on my husband's heating pad when he left the bedroom. So I purchased this heating pad for animals and she loves it. We can control the temperature and there is a timer for how long you want the heating pad on. Happy with this purchase!

This item is flat and fits my dogs bed quite well and the temperature can be easily set for the temperature needed. The dog seems to like it ad slept the night on it. My plan was to use this for my doxie puppy to lay on. Her plan was to shake it, scratch it, and chew the cord. I have a bad knee so I am the one using it. I like it. I can’t say it is chew proof. My doxie can chew through anything.
