Small and discreet button that can be put anywhere. Has a little adhesive preinstalled and there are small screw holes on the battery plate that can be used to hard mount as well. Tested the device with my Ring account and it received the signal no problem.

I am very impressed with the Ring Sensors: Panic Button. We have a ton of Ring cameras and related devices already installed throughout our home ranging from different types of cameras, the alarm, flood and smoke detectors and chimes. Setup via the QR code for the panic button was step by step and only took a few minutes. Super easy. Zero connectivity issues around our home. Based on similar Ring devices we already have I'm sure the battery will last a long time. The button itself is very solid with a smart little flip up cover to prevent accidental presses. The back of the device has two adhesive strips for placement and they definitely hold it where it needs to stay. The button has you perform test operation during setup and it worked flawlessly the first time. I did not actually follow through with true emergency contact because we didn't need law enforcement or the fire department showing up for review pictures as fun as that sounds. The app allows you to set the button up as panic, fire or medical response to personally fit your use needs. It also lets you designate/title the button location in case you have multiple buttons. We set ours to medical in case there's an unexpected fall or cardiac event etc. The button is very functional and with its low price and our existing Ring subscription we'll most likely order additional buttons for around the home just for safety and convenience. Another great product from Ring.

The Ring Sensors:Panic Button (newest model) works great. We already use Ring Doorbell, Ring Cameras, and the Ring monitored security system. Everything has been self installed and it all works great. The Panic button wasn't any different. It was super easy to install and use. I took it out of the box, pulled the clear tab for the battery to activate it, scanned the QR code in the instructions, followed the prompts, and a few minutes later it was all set up and working with our system. The materials are the same quality we have come to expect from the Ring system. The panic button can be permanently mounted, or simply placed where you feel it would bve most convenient for you. It also comes with a clear cover or shield that prevents you from accidental activation. Also, during the final steps of programming, the system goes into test mode to allow you to test and make sure it is working, but does not dispatch authorities. This is fully compatible with our Ring System and it is a great value for the money.

I got the Ring Sensor Panic Button for my mom who lives alone to be able to reach me in the event of an emergency. The idea was for her to carry the panic button on her person at all times and if she were to not be able to reach her phone she could push the button and it would reach out to me as her emergency contact. When I read online that you could press the button to instantly alert "your" emergency contacts, I assumed I would be able to dictate who the emergency contacts would be. Unfortunately, that is incorrect. I don't know who the emergency contacts are or who would be contacted but I'm guessing police or fire depending on whether you set the device up for medical, panic or fire. The device itself is very easy to set up and connected immediately to my Ring account. It is small enough to easily carry in your pocket, set on your table or nightstand or mount to a wall. It is encased inside a plastic case which you have to open to press the "panic button" so there is little danger of accidentally pressing the button. I'm just disappointed that I can't use it as I envisioned so am rethinking how to utilize this device or if it is even a benefit to me.

I've heard about Ring for years but I never took the leap to getting into the whole Ring ecosystem, with doorbells, security cameras, and alarms. But I'm a big fan of their products and since Amazon acquired it in 2018 it's just gotten bigger and more popular. This product seemed like a good introduction to the Ring ecosystem, especially since the product page said that this works without a base station and over Amazon Sidewalk. The concept of a "panic button" is one of those things you hope you never need, but it can literally be a life saver if you have it. Think of the "I've fallen and I can't get up" lady. I bought this with the intent to try it out without Professional Monitoring for a while; as the product page suggested, I wanted to see if I could just get it to "instantly alert my emergency contacts". On the positive side, the hardware is impressive. It's much larger than I thought it'd be, about 2.5 inches in diameter, so it's not going to get easily lost. If you already have the Ring app, setup is very straightforward. Just pull the tab to expose the battery (they're two CR2032 batteries, the same kind you use in an AirTag or many car key fobs, and the batteries can last upwards of 3 years) and follow the on-screen instructions. There's a plastic cover over the button so you can't accidentally press it, similar to the cover you might find on a wall fire alarm. One very confusing "feature" is that if you don't close the plastic lid or the battery cover, a red alert on your phone will say TAMPERED, which set me into a panic before I realized it just means I just have to close the cover. As long as you subscribe to the $200/year Ring Pro service with 24/7 Professional Monitoring, you're good to go. You can choose whether the button will alert Fire (presumably the fire department), Medical (presumably an EMT), or "Panic" (presumably 911). What's a bit disappointing is that there's no transparency as to exactly WHO they'll call, and when I click the "Learn More" button, it's just an outdated help file about a discontinued product. That's kind of sloppy on the app maker's part. My only conclusion is that "they'll figure out who to call", and help will be dispatched to your address. I guess. Here's the part I found really annoying. If you have no intention of paying the $200/month and opting for "self-monitoring" instead, there is absolute no guidance for you. No indication of what happens when you press the button, no settings for you to set an "emergency contact", no details on how you can alert others. The only thing I can piece together is that when you press the button, it'll maybe set a push notification to your own phone...which kind of defeats the purpose if you're home alone and pressing the panic button. There's absolutely no guidance on how to set up the connectivity so that an emergency contact can be alerted (whether via a phone call or a push notification, and whether Amazon Sidewalk can help). It's terribly confusing, and there's no documentation that explains it well. Worse, when I signed up for the Ring App, I was automatically opted in to some kind of "30 day free trial" for "Protect Service" that I never asked for. And it's completely unclear to me exactly what this is—is it their "Professional Monitoring" service? Some local access service? Since I never asked to sign up, I have no idea what I signed up for. It's a case of great, even brilliant technology that works for the one use case they want you to sign up for (the $200/year service). If you already have that, this is a nice addition to it. If you don't, this may a bit too much of a hassle to use on its own until you decide to go all-in on RIng.
