  • Not so sure about this one
I purchased this panic button for my security system and assumed that when I triggered it, it would signal the control center to call law enforcement. But what actually happens after I talked to control center support, is that they call you first, then anyone on your call list before calling law enforcement. To me, that kind of defeats the purpose. I myself or family is under duress, a panic button should call law enforcement immediately. If I am under duress from a breakin or whatever, I don't want you to call me first. Ring has to fix that protocol. ... show more

  • Police a button click away
Perfect for quickly setting off your alarm system and notifying the police. After about 10 (or less) seconds or less after activating the alarm system with the button, the ring security system called us and then dispatched the police. Quick and easy access for setting the alarm off and not having to scramble and call 911 and tell what's going on and the address. We told the guy on the phone what the situation was and he stayed on the phone with us until police arrived. Definitely worth the buy. This device I believe truly helped catch the thief by getting the police dispatched and sent to our house so quickly with only the click of a button. ... show more

  • Panic Button - response now degraded by Ring in 2019
The Panic button response functionality has changed. Ring previously dispatched Police *first* prior to trying to reach you. Late in 2019 they changed it so that they call you first before dispatching police. It's a terrible change in my opinion. The whole point behind a Panic button is to dispatch police as quickly as possible. They've inexplicably chosen to put a delay in that process by trying to call and verify that you meant to push the button/keypad (which you must hold for 3 seconds). As for the unit itself, the button is fine and easily pairs to the alarm system. But now due to the recent response change it is more of an alarm trigger than it is a panic button. ... show more

  • Finally a panic button
When I first purchased the Ring alarm system for our apartment I was wondering why Ring did not have a separate panic button. They finally came out with one and my wife and I are very happy! The button is a good size and easy to use. This button can be fixed to a specific location or moveable. My wife likes it moveable right now so she can take it anywhere in the house with her. Love the Ring products. ... show more

  • Will do job, could be better.
This device is supper easy to install and activate. When it comes to looks it’s unattractive. It’s looks very toy like and sticks out in an odd manner if stuck on wall. I put on the inside of a door due to this. Ring should consider a design change there. It screams, hey kid press me. Just changing shape to square would help. It should be noted this is not the same as a duress/ panic button on a typical monitored alarm. It activates the siren and the alarm company calls you to see if you need the police. A traditional alarm you can set your panic alarm to be on a siren or silent and the alarm company calls the police directly which is what you want in a real duress situation. I would like to see software updates to give the owner setting options for the panic alarm to have those options. Overall if you can’t get to a phone it will get the police to you eventually it will just take more time due to phone calls being made 1st. ... show more

  • When you can’t reach your phone/keypad.
Great little accessory if an emergency arises. For mounting it comes with one screw and drywall anchor, along with a 3M adhesive pad to tape if necessary. It was set up on our system in 2-3 minutes and works great! Very simple add-on but a powerful little tool. If a live panic situation occurs you hold the button down for 3 seconds and it will sound off the alarm and contact Ring’s professional monitoring if you are subscribed to it. I’d recommend this add-on to everyone. ... show more

  • Much better solution for Panic mode
This is a much more practical solution for panic mode in the Ring home security system. Without it, the only way to alert 🚨 the monitoring service was to press and hold two buttons on the keypad for a couple of seconds. This was very easy to install with the system. I keep it in my nightstand. I hope I don’t have to use it. ... show more

  • Great addition to the Ring system, though a tad expensive
This is a great addition to the Ring alarm system. It is small, and can either be mounted on the wall or kept with you for easy access. I mounted mine just above my bed, and it is relatively unobtrusive (and I don’t risk accidentally setting it off!). The only downside is the price—the technology is fairly simple for what it costs. Still, I think it is worth it to have a panic button in the back part of my house, far from the main keypad. ... show more
