I did roller derby and I was going from low tops to high tops. I was looking for something that would last a long time and had ankle support also would be able to handle the outdoors. My final choices were these Impalas , or Moxi beach bunnies. These were right in the middle first, great boot for beginners or intermediate skaters ! They truly do fit true to size I was worried they would be too big I wear a 7-8 in women’s shoes and I chose the larger of the sizes. If you’re looking to do more jam skating the adjustable toe stops are great they fit standardize jam plugs. If you wanna switch them out. But if you’re more looking for an outside skate or a park skate these are great for the price if you’re looking for a skate that will last a long time. I’m still breaking in the boot but Riedell’s are known for being very stiff so if you’re looking for a skate that feels easy on the toes maybe consider wearing some extra socks or a softer boot. These are really comfy though the wheels feel really smooth just don’t forget to rotate them and adjust them to your needs for the first few sessions. Overall a really cool skate and fun if you’re looking to learn to skate this summer without breaking the bank. I've been skating since February 2024, and purchased these skates in April 2024 after some pretty extensive research. I thought they were a great combination of features for the price (adjustable toe-stop, metal plate, reputable brand, and fun colors!) They have been fantastic to learn with and gain confidence. For reference, I'm 5'7" tall and 155lbs, and found these to be very comfortable. I often wear taller socks and fold down the excess so I have a bit more cushion around the top of the skates, but sometimes I forget to do this and I've never had pain or blisters or anything like that, they have a good amount of cushioning by themselves. I mainly skate in rinks, but have skated outdoors in tennis/basketball courts as well. I purchased harder wheels to use indoors after a few months, and also waxed laces. I highly recommend getting waxed laces, as the stock ones are quite slippery and start to fray/get fuzzy after only a few sessions. I also purchased toe covers, which I was hesitant to use at first because I liked the look without them better, but I have since scuffed up the covers during practice, which are much cheaper to replace than the skates themselves! First picture is when the skates were brand new out of the box just after I put the toe stops on, second picture is a few months later after I replaced the laces with waxed ones, and put harder wheels on for rink skating. Rollerbones 98a pink wheels pair well with this color! I love my skates and will hopefully get many years of skating out of them! This review is as of November 2024, no significant wear and tear to them, they are holding up well. Most notable wear is the color on the tongue is rubbing off quite noticeably, but you can't see that when the skates are laced up. ... show more

Obsessed. I read and reviewed skates for months before choosing these. They are so comfortable and easy to skate in. Perfect for beginners or someone with experience. They come with a tool to adjust the wheels, stopper and base of the boot which is so convenient. These are outdoor wheels but you can buy indoor wheels to easily swap out using the same boot. They look great, feel great, and they’re not to heavy. I wear an 8 1/2 a bought a size 9 and fits perfect with a thicker sock. ... show more

According to the size chart I should be able to wear a 7. My usual shoe size is 8 to 8.5 but the measurement chart put me in a 7. Don't fall for that. While I could get my foot in there, it was a tight fit. My toe and heel were way up against the ends. If I were to try wearing them I would have blisters before long. The top of the toe end where the tongue joins the shoe is a super tight fit. I had on a single thin sock and it was really tight fitting. It hurt just having the skate on, not even standing up. I will return them for being the wrong size but probably won't reorder the right size due to the way the toe end is too tight on top. Theoretically the shoe would loosen up a bit and maybe be able to fit better, but I don't want to risk the blisters that I would get in the break-in period. It's too bad because these are exactly as vibrant as shown in the picture. They are beautiful! I love how they look! I was looking forward to showing up to the skate party with these cool skates. ... show more

I have had these skates for 5 months and they have held up good. I skate indoor and outdoor with them. The wheels that come on them are for outdoor, but I purchased indoor wheels and I change them out as needed. It is a beautiful boot. The only negative thing is that they are extremely heavy. However the weight is reasonable for the price. Lighter plates are much much more expensive! I'm female and I wear a size 8 in tennis shoes and I wear a size 7 in these boots for reference, perfect fit.
