  • Ladies Half-Size Tips
Color: Black Size: Mens 6 / Ladies 7
Some things I wish I'd known before ordering the wrong size: 1. If you're a .5 ladies size and have wide feet, want to leave some room for splay and natural swelling, or are closer to the top end of your size, just knock off your .5. (7.5, buy a size 7. 9.5, buy a size 9.) 2. If you're a .5 ladies size and want a snug fit, have slim feet, or are closer to the bottom end of your size, round down and then go a size down from that number. (7.5, buy a 6. 9.5, buy an 8.) These are a really beautiful pair of skates, well-made and worth the money spent. Just wish the sizing was less rigid! Can't wait to use them. ... show more

  • Good skates for the $$ but could be better!
I have had these skates for about a year now. Im not a everyday skater but maybe 1-2 times a month. The skates have held up great and still look great! They are very solid. My main gripe is that the wheels and bearings are junk! I mainly speed skate(race, not derby) on indoor coated & uncoated wood. These wheels are extremely slippery for me! At cruising and slight moderate faster speed theyre ok, but if you start pushing hard in the turns to build up speed your feet will be slipping out from under you! First upgrade to 84a - 88a backspin or zombie wheel hardness(62x42 wheel size)& (w/o the "speed groove")and abec 9 or higher ceramic coated bearings! You wont believe how much less effort it takes to gain great speeds and grip together! Just my 2 cents. Thanks! ... show more

  • Enjoying them as a semi-experienced/beginner
I hope to update this as I work them in, but I love them right now! A bit snug, which is great for stability but tough as far as circulation and getting used to long sessions and break-in. Skate around the house once and then changed my wheels out to Atom Pulse wheels as my intentions are to mostly use these for outside use. Bones Reds bearings and Bionic toe stops on the way for the next upgrades. I'm really happy for now not having a crazy setup while getting more comfortable. I plan to use these through the fall and winter for practice and upgrading as I see fit for derby fresh meat in September and/or leisurely street skating with a group of girlfriends. ... show more

  • Not durable enough for derby
In general, I like these skates. They arrived on time, fit comfortably, and they were a good skate to go through fresh meat training. However, after 4.5 months, the vinyl plate is already detaching from the rest of the skate, and that's really disappointing. I should have spent the extra money on a better brand. By all means, purchase these if you just have a light skating hobby. Don't buy these if you're serious about jamming and blocking. ... show more

  • Would buy again
EDIT: after a little more skating, I'm taking a star off. Two issues. One, the bushings (spacers on the trucks) these were far too soft. For learning to skate, I like my trucks tight and they did not allow that. I have upgraded them (about a 20 fix). The other issue, the nylon plate. They way the kingpin sits in the plate and tightens when adjusting the trucks is an issue. The the bolt stripped the plastic. So I have to take off my plate and jb weld the kingpin into place. Again, good starter skates but expect to upgrade them in 6 months to a year if you are a little rough on them. I bought these for mens derby. They are good. I would highly recommend them. They only issue I have was the toe stops would loosen as I'm skating and I lost it once. I upgraded my toes stops. Also, the trucks loosen a but that might be the bushings. Either way, for a beginner, I would recommend it. ... show more

  • Completely worth every penny!
These are a great skate for Beginner/Intermediate skaters. Bought them for my son after he showed some interest. I would compare them to the Carerra that was out in the mid and early 2000’s. Very comfortable, wheels are actually decent for what your paying. Only thing you may wanna consider down the road after some time in them are the bearings. Other than that great skates ... show more

  • Good, but tight fitting, indoor/outdoor skates
I would suggest going one size larger than your shoe size. Unfortunately, they didn’t offer size 13, so mine are a bit tight. You can find different methods for lacing skates online, to help with comfort. Construction is fantastic, though. The boot is made of very good material and should be quite durable. The bearings and wheels are above average. The wheels are hard, designed for indoor skating. I still used them outdoors at skate parks, walking/biking paths, and parking lots, with no difficulty, for several months before buying softer wheels. Overall, very good skates, as one should expect from Riedell. A good purchase. ... show more

  • Awesome rink skates
I'm a Medium 9.5 US size in shoes/sneakers, the size 9 was too small near the toes and had to return for a size 10 which fit a little snug just before the toes, but I'm happy after breaking it in after a few days of use. These ride super smooth on the rink and fast. They are effortless to ride on, not as fast as the other skates folks own, but much faster and smoother than any rental skates you ever wore. ... show more
