This is all you need , I was gonna go all out and swap the whole case but no this is all you need for great air flow and when doing this swap I took the time to add thermal padding as needed and add a copper heatsink to the ssd . The little details are cool too like the wholes where the fan is are perfect and the extra bullet pattern air vents are cool . Video added from a review of a dock but shows the back case .

The media could not be loaded. Easy to install. Nerve racking on such an expensive device. Love the extra mods for ventilation. Device runs hot on certain games. And that was my biggest concern. Only gripe is that the l4,l5 and r4,r5 get pressed without pressing the button. Just the casing itself will cause this.

My Gen 1 Steam Deck was constantly running hot and overheating. That stopped when I received and installed this aftermarket back plate. It only get warm now and the fan doesn't sound like a helicopter. Looks great as well. Like the Nothing phone.

Seems well made but it did mess with the steamdeck oleds WiFi signal changing back to the original basically fixed everything though I don’t believe it was intended for the OLED when I purchased it months ago.

The instructions are hard to read if you have vision issues but it’s a simple and smooth process. The hardest part was swapping the smooth buttons for the textured ones. Looks amazing

So this backplate. I used it for a couple months. It felt really nice, and was super cool that I could see through it. And the interchangeable back buttons were so cool! It kept my deck fairly cool considering it was an lcd model. It does take away some of the fan suction so it does slightly deter the heat dissipation, but atleast it had a lot of extra vents to vent the heat from. Honestly though, there’s better ones.
