Hello all, I bought this item as a gift for a family member who is getting into molded model painting as he mentioned that he needed an airbrush for detailing his figures. He knows I am a Vine voice so he sent me a review but to the effect of whether or not this is a giftable item, here are my thoughts. I would say yes, I think it was an honest and good choice as a gift for someone. He immediately opened the item, and he even offered up an unboxing review. Regardless, he immediately started looking up information on, how to clean the device, what type of paints he needed, and how to dilute them. ---Apparently there isn't much information in the box on this subject, which I found odd, but he said it wasn't "to big of a deal" considering the amount of information widely available on the internet. However, the instruction manual did offer up plenty of information on how to connect and use the device and how to maintain it. He seemed pleased, even extremely satisfied with the value of the "full-kit" style of presentation. He said he got everything he needed (minus the paints) and that customers would get more than they pay for with this set. Like I was saying though, as a gift I think this is a highly giftable item and I think that whoever you get it for.. friend, associate, artist, hobbyist, aesthetician... they all should be happy with this airbrush system as a gift. Personally I think this is a great idea to gift to newcomers or experienced airbrush enthusiasts. The kit comes with everything you need to get going and with the exception of buying paint and something to paint you basically get everything you need to make it all work together. **Keep in mind that you might have to do some research on paint types, dilution ratios, and pressure values which aren't available in the instructions for this device. So, if you or whoever you are gifting it to wont have access to the internet, or if he or she wont feel comfortable with having to do their own research in order to use this device, I wouldn't suggest buying or gifting it.     • Super nice and convenient

I am a maker build prop replicas, helmets, costumes and the like. I have to use a wide range of tools and skills to get the end effect that I'm looking for and one that pops up occasionally is airbrushing. I tend to avoid it and do other techniques because of the hassle of dragging out the airbrush, compressor, regulator, hoses, airbrush holder, etc. This is pretty much all of those things in one. You are limited to the three speeds the little compressor offers, but for my purposes that is not an issue. The airbrush is a single action only so it is good for novices and was fairly forgiving to use. The included hose is a nice touch, but in my experience the hose would pull the compressor off the table because it was light weight. I actually really like the brush attached directly to the compressor as it was so easy to spray and sit back down while I reoriented the piece. I was able to spray all the normal airbrush paints I had laying around along with some acrylic paint that was thinned down. Overall, I like this little thing. I think it's simplicity will make me not avoid airbrushing anymore in my projects and the quick setup will make it an easier part of my workflow. ... show more

Got this for my wife for Christmas. She has never used an airbrush before. It comes with several different-sized cups, cleaning brushes, spare tips, and a power cord. The first mistake we made was putting in regular foundation. It is way too thick. We tried to thin it out with alcohol and water but it just separated. So she ordered the right foundation that is made for an airbrush. Now it's working great. The air speed is adjustable as is the trigger. She is still learning but she says she loves it. ... show more

I’m not a great painter, so I thought this would be a good idea for my painting class. I love that you just have to charge it with the USB cable and you’re good to go. This comes with different cups and an air hose. When using the hose, I had to balance it on the table to keep it upright. That’s not a problem for me. I am playing around with different paints and figuring out which consistency to use. I really want to learn how to apply my face makeup with this. That’s my next learning project. I’m super excited to try everything now. It’s super easy to assemble and clean. The value that you get with this kit is amazing. I’m going to use this at my grandchild’s birthday party for face painting. I know it will be a hit with the kids. I’m looking for little stencils with cute characters to paint on the kids’ faces. I definitely think that this would make a great gift/stocking stuffer. I highly recommend this painting kit. On a scale of one to ten, this is definitely a ten. This airbrush set comes with several different size product holders that screw into this powerful for its size rechargeable airbrush. Cleaning tools and an extension hose are also included. If you are interested in this for foundation application, it's easy. Put about 8 to 10 drops of foundation made for airbrush systems in the vial, turn on the brush, practice making fairly rapid air circles on your face, then press down on the trigger to spray your product. Move quickly, close your eyes to cover that area and your forehead and let it dry a few seconds. It offers good, even coverage that helps hide uneven skin tone and spots without smudges. I've posted a before and after photo of my cheek. HiAfter use, cleaning is easy by filling the product vial with water and spraying it in the sink until it runs clear. There are instructions for deep cleaning as this unit can also be used for airbrush painting. Most components unscrew or can be pulled apart. It's fast for foundation application. I will get some airbrush blush and contour shades to experiment with soon. ... show more
