Most of the tools included are real tools. Real hammer, pliers, safety googles, and level. The other items are more toy like. If you do not have a responsible kid do not gift this because the tools are real. My grand kids did fine with them. Ages 3-5-7

I picked this up for my niece as she has demonstrated an interest in hand tools and building, but she only has access to toy tools and kits. I thought this would be a more advanced toy tool kit, but no, these are actual tools. I am very tempted to steal the 6" claw hammer as it is pretty hefty and comfortable for my small hands.
