I have been wearing this lipstick in various shades for years. I'm sure I've reviewed it before but it bears repeating because if Revlon ever discontinues this line, I'm going to be SERIOUSLY DISAPPOINTED! The colors are amazing but the staying power is what really matters! Other long-wear lipsticks can be dry or flaky but that is NOT what this one is. It goes on smoothly and once it sets, it stays all day until I take it off at night with makeup remover or chapstick. My daughter was born unexpectedly early in 2009. I had to be intubated for a c-section. Hours later, back in my room, when the doctors came in to check on me, one of the female doctors commented "wow! you look great...lipstick on and everything!" I said no, that I hadn't touched up anything and she demanded to know what kind of lipstick I was wearing that lasted through surgery and childbirth! My all time favorite lipstick. Apply in the morning and it’s perfect when I get ready for bed. Three meals. No clumping or fading. The only one I’ve found that really stays. Only this color seems to be that way. I’ve tried them all!

This is the only lipstick that stays on for hours and the color is my favorite, I have been wearing this lipstick for about 10 years but can no longer buy it in stores, only can order it online. The price has doubled but it is worth it.

I bought one a while back on clearance in a store and it wasn't what I was expecting so I nearly threw it out. I had gotten into liquid lipstick because of the staying power and I prefer a matte look. Unfortunately most end up drying out your lips, making them look very wrinkled, wearing off oddly, oxidizing and darkening when you put them on. Thankfully I still had my Revlon lipstick. It does go on sheer. That means you can control how intense or natural it looks. It can look like a flush of color and very subtle or you can layer it on. Your lips look a little shiny at first but it eventually dries matte and stays on a while. I threw out my liquid lipsticks and I'm now collecting these. The picture is of Finale. The original one I bought is Couture. They are very similar. I would say Finale is a touch more red and Couture is a touch more pink. I also tried Iconic and it is almost my natural lip color. Unfortunately it has a shimmer to it. If it was matte I would wear it alone but with the shimmer I can't get the 1980's out of my head so I will wear it under my dry formula matte lipstick to sheer out their color. ... show more

I've tried several long lasting lipsticks over the past few weeks. All were liquids. I could not find the right color for one thing. The other is they looked painted on, not natural. Been wearing Revlon Super Lustrous Blushing Mauve. This is very close in color but just a slight more pink than my natural lip color, but usable. So I ordered the Iconic color and that color comes close to matching my lips. I reordered Socialite and Wardrobe. Wardrobe is a bit more purplish than the picture. It is a strong color like maybe a burnt red. Socialite on the other hand is almost an exact match to my lip color. Perfect for me, no more looking. May try a few more colors if they go on sale for special occasions. But for everyday use Socialite is for me, basically not noticable yet gives me even color over my whole lips and keeps my lips from the occasional peeling. I took a drink after 10 minutes and had very little transfer and after 15 minutes had no transfer. After about 40 minutes I ate a Pork Chop off the bone and did seem to lose a bit but color was still there, just worn down a bit. I put it on at around 11 am and it was still there at 9 pm. I have also used Preview on my upper lip and Iconic on the bottom lip then rubbed them together and end up with a color in between the two. These people saying that it doesn't last must be constantly licking their lips or putting a lip balm on top of it. ... show more

I've been using this same product for years, in two specific colors, and my last purchase was disappointing. It went on and dry and cakey. I used to be able to put it on and it would last for hours, even when drinking or using a straw. Not with this last one. I've tried the new versions of the Colorstay and they aren't the same. It would be great if Revlon had a comparison chart so you could find the right shades in the newer products because I have a feeling the traditional lipsticks are on their way out. ... show more
