Just starting. Very accurate rendering of a 1943 Type 7C U Boat. Comes well packaged. Just finished the build. It came out as expected. Take your time. Some of the parts are fragile. The only thing I wish were in the instructions is the prompt for the photo etch parts need in substitution for the regular parts. So you have to look at two sets of instructions constantly to keep up with the process. I suggest using a a photo etch bending tool as photo etch parts are small. Once you’ve finished the project, you’ll be pleased. And with this current price, you can’t go wrong. Keep on building! ... show more

I have built models for quite some time, but not in the last 20 years. This is the top tier of model construction. I have spent more time reading & studying on this project than painting or glue. Have plenty of paint. The instructions are in 10+ languages. Please take time.

I'm retired, I have the time. Still, it was a compromise between a full build and what I could do. It is an awesome model and very cleanly molded. The assembly directions were top quality and included color pics of several paint schemes. A good history is included. Be careful to follow the instructions in order and you’ll have no problem at all. Take note this is a large model with plenty of room for added detail for those military buffs out there. I wonder if the injection mold has been over used. The small parts are difficult to remove from the runner which is too thick. The box is very low quality and cheap. The numbering system is inefficient. The hull water discharge holes are closed instead of open Revell should hire an polymer engineer from LEGO to teach them how to make quality parts. Revell does not sell paint in the US directly The price is too high for the product This does not reflect well or German engineering unless Revell has outsourced the production ... show more
