Description

This economical, reliable little T3 transporter was made from 1979 onwards. The completely redeveloped vehicle with its practical modern shape was visibly roomier than its predecessors. As the last rear-engined type made by VW, it was regarded as the last real ''bully''. The 4-cylinder engine offered 50 to 112 bhp according to version. As usual the transporter appeared in various commercial vehicle versions and also in the form of a camper for private use.

I am a model builder. I have been building models since I was 5 and have put together every brand of kit out there. Revell is not my favorite brand. Typically, models from Revell have poor tooling, Thick plastic, and too much flashing or alignment problems. But this kit is from Revell Germany! The model came together very well and the amount of options were impressive. There were many parts to assemble and the decals were very well made. I took this kit and made a model of T.C.'s Island Hoppers from the TV show "Magnum PI". It's obviously not the exact same van as the one in the show but close enough not to draw any strange looks from most model judges. Overall a very good kit. ... show more

I'm now working on the model, and it's a lot of fun. I've been a big fan of Volkswagen vans and campers . I owned a 74 camper, and I wish I still had it. My dad owned the original style 61 split windshield camper. The model is very well detailed, from the engine and suspension all the way up to the cabinets and pop top. My only complaint is the tail light license plate panel was a bit too wide, so I had to file it a bit to fit. ... show more

I love the model of this vanagon - we have one! But the plastic is very thin. I don't remember older revel models having this thin of plastic. I assume that this is just the way of the world now.
