These little construction vehicles are perfect for my 21 mo. grandson's hands and chunky so he can manipulate them. They are light weight which is actually a good thing for little ones who occasionally try to launch them. They are basic, nothing lights up but simple CAT equipment is best for imagination. I thought these would be metal Matchbox quality, but no. Feels like polystyrene. The joints are good, and show pride in the build quality--excavator turns plus 3 joints on arm; dumptruck dumps; backhoe arm turns, plus 2 joints on its arm; all the buckets are jointed; wheels with axles turn. And it's real CAT brand licensed, to Vietnam. That said, they feel cheap. Very light. Five stars for cake toppers. Three stars for sandbox toys. Detail is medium low. They make OK executive trophies. Can't be given to 3-yr-olds, the plastic arms on the excavator and backhoe will break if a little monkey twists them sideways.
