I'm a stationery nerd with a crazy backlog of probably 50+ new notebooks of all sorts languishing on my shelves, silently judging me, but when I want a practical, value-for-cost utilitarian notebook that nevertheless has excellent paper, I turn to these. I've gone through at least six so far! Paper is thicker than Rhodia (usually 80 gsm) and more absorbent (also slightly less surface-smooth), so fountain pen inks won't sheen much, but it doesn't seem to feather at all even with a wet pen and inks dry quickly. Perfect for quick notes! The mid-tone gray grid ruling is perfect, too, a goldilocks size and color, neither obtrusively dark nor eyestrain light. The plastic cover is sturdy too and provides a flat stiff writing surface anywhere - can repurpose as a hard, toothy shitajiki pencil board! Really, so many good, no-nonsense things about this notebook. Maybe one minor weakness is the spiral binding which can warp and which the paper does catch now and then when turning a page, but it's hard to demand that level of detail engineering in a ~$5 notebook (in the 3-pack). Nearly 200 words about a notebook. Like I said, nerd. But please humor me, I'm harmless. TL;DR: Excellent value, good everyday quality, works with fountain pens. ... show more

I really enjoy these little notebooks, I use them almost every day! I really enjoy the graph paper lines, think it helps keep my notes more organized. Pros: • sturdy paper • small and convenient • haven’t noticed any bleed-through with my pens — haven’t tried with a permanent marker though • plenty of pages* (*my use level: moderate) What I Wish it Had • would be nice if the pages were pre-perforated so they would tear out easily, but this isn’t an issue with the product, just something I think would make it more convenient. I was excited about this set of notebooks after reading positive reviews. I was not disappointed! They are the perfect size for journaling, list-making, and staying organized. I do a little bit of habit tracking, planning, and journaling and it has been great for all of it. The covers are sturdy, but not rock solid. There is a little give if you are writing in your lap. The paper quality seems nice and matched what I expected. It works well with felt tip pens (with very slight bleed through to the back, but nothing terrible). It also came with stencils which I have mixed feelings for. The "icons" like a book, social media logo, or house really don't look good when you trace them. The simple squares, banners, and edges are quite helpful for making a page look nice. Overall, great value for the price and I would buy this again. ... show more

    • A Utilitarian Notebook with Attractive Features

I bought this for utility use on notes and it functions quite well. Pro: Inexpensive, yet serviceable. It is reasonably sturdy - better than its card stock cover competitors. Fountain pen ink will dry fairly quickly so it's great for note taking. The dots are substantial enough to be useful in writing neatly while being light enough to almost hide behind any writing. Feedback with fountain pens is not huge, but noticeable. Bleed through requires a fair amount of ink. It is slightly less white than ordinary binder paper, but not so creamy that ink colors are distorted. Con: No closure strap.It needs an elastic band. The paper is not really fountain pen friendly so much as fountain pen tolerant. It is slightly prone to feathering and has noticeable feedback (If you don't like feedback then you won't like this paper.) Sizing is too low to allow sheening inks to sheen much. This notebook really isn't for journal keeping. So, do the cons mean I'll return the product? No,. Would I buy it again, probably. Basically it is a good buy for anyone needing to take notes and have the notebook survive being thrown in a bag or around a desk. ... show more

I love these notebooks! I’ve bought them twice and in different sizes. The quality of the paper is amazing. I also like the hard plastic cover because I hate soft covers that fold and crease. Also, since the cover is transparent, you can put stickers or writing on the first page to show what that notebook is for/decorate. Great quality! I have been looking for a notebook to write in because the leather bound ones that I have been purchasing have sadly been coming apart on the bind which is lame because I wanted them to last me my life.And plus I haven’t gone up in price! I was a little skeptical and getting these because of the rings but they have been put to the challenge and they have kept up they have not bent or been ruined at all! Also the thickness of the page is perfect and the inkdoes not bleed through The pages which is amazing I was worried at first when I first felt it but after writinf in it it’s just been perfect. The only issue I kind of have is at the rings are a little bit too big so when I’m writing on the back of the page it kind of gets in my way but that’s fine because I can work around that! I love that they sent 3 of them and the price is awesome!!! I definitely will be purchasing these from now on as long as they don’t go up in price like the leather bound ones have been!! ... show more
