Got these for when I go rollerblading; mind you that I am an adult women, roughly 5’6” and 130lbs. They are a little bulky and at first I didn’t really like them cause I thought they made my body a little awkward. The first time I went out thiugh, I totally crashed and honestly, very lucky to have been wearing these to catch my fall. I would have been really roughed up, not including that my palms would have had extremely bad road rash if not for the wrist guards. Would give these pads 10/10 for protection and do not hesitate anymore to put them on before riding.

Retrospec Protective Gear is a set of knee pads, elbow pads, and wrist guards for rollerblading, roller skating, and skateboarding. They come in five different colors and three different sizes. Made out of thick foam and fabric, they have firm plastic on top of certain areas for extra protection. They attach with stretchy straps and Velcro. The Velcro straps do not have tighteners. The quality of the gear seems great so far, and the price seems fair as well. Although the Velcro fastens very near to the edge of the knee and elbow pads, it never seems to be scratchy. Also, the knee and elbow pads bend nicely when I rollerblade, and the wrist guards are very sturdy and never slip off. However, this gear is only offered in three different sizes and no sizing chart is offered. After receiving an adult size set, I found it too large and had to order a youth size instead. Even then, the knee and elbow pads seemed slightly loose, while going another size down would almost certainly be too tight. They are not falling off, but they are big enough that fastening the Velcro straps does not seem to tighten them. I would appreciate it if the straps were made in such a way that someone could better adjust the tightness. Other than some minor sizing issues, Retrospec Protective Gear is definitely a great product that is comfortable and effective, and I would recommend it to others.

I haven't fallen too many times, but always happy I was wearing these when I fell. I have taken up roller blading to keep up with my kids on their bikes, and I'm too old to be getting scraped up. Wanted to leave a review for sizing - I am 5'2, about 140 lb and a size 8/10 pants. The Youth 10-14 size fits great and I wouldn't change sizes at all. I was a little worried the knee pads would be too tight at first, but they are totally fine once you get used to them. I have found it is more comfortable when I wear the knee pads upside down with the words on the bottom.

Bought for my niece to help her get more comfortable with a skateboard. Both her and her younger brother, who's learning to roller blade, started fighting over them, so I bought another set. Then her older sister asked if I would get her a set too! They stay on well, hold up to a beating from kids who love to rough-house, and are wonderfully adjustable for varying sizes! I would recommend to others that as far as sizing, the sizes run a bit large, so my thin 9-year-old niece fit the size 3-6 just fine. An athletic adult woman could probably fit the teen size.

Overall good but poor quality. If i knew what I know now I would have just spent more money to get higher quality protective gear. In only a couple of months in the wrist guard material wore out so the plastic falls out all the time. I'm a woman 5'3 about 135lbs and I kneed the straps to come all the way over to the point it just looks wonky and ill fitted.
