  • Sorry! The way it should be
The best version of this game is the original one and this retro reissue version does not disappoint. I bought the newer version of Sorry! (fire and ice version) thinking that it was more like this one but the rules are so much different and the lack of an extra pawn really takes away from the game(and the fire and ice rules can be confusing). When I saw the retro version on amazon I just had to get it to relive the experience of playing this game when I was a kid. The game board is an exact replica of the original; however, this time the board folds into a square instead of a rectangle(like the original) and has a split on one side. Some people may not mind this but i prefer boards that fold in half into a rectangle rather than into a square. The pawns are made of wood and feel really high quality unlike the cheap plastic ones you get in the new version. This version also comes with a very thorough set of rules that goes over any potential scenario that may occur in the game. The fire and ice rules were vary vague and left room for confusion especially in the case of the fire and ice pieces. Overall if you are wanting a good complete game I highly recommend this version ... show more

  • Great retro
The colors, the cards, the wood pieces, the design -all like 1950s! The board is quadfold, but still sturdy and well constructed. For the life of me, I cannot figure out how to plug it in to make it warm. That was a weird rating category.

  • Definitely worth it
I bought an $8 set for my grandchildren from Target. After we opened the box we found that, other than the game board, it was different then the one I grew up with. It had three pieces per player, the cards were the same but the details of some of the moves were different. I immediately went online and ordered this version. Other than the board being 4-fold closing, it is exactly the 'original' I was looking for. As I said in the heading, definitely worth it. ... show more

  • Love it, but price could be less
Love that the colored pegs you move on the board are made out of wood versus plastic. The board and materials all appear to be sturdy and long lasting. This game reminds me of my childhood.

  • Love it!
This version of the game takes me back to childhood. We played it again last night at a friend's house (it was a present to her). The colors are bold, the typeface on the cards is fun and reminiscent of the 1950's and it's much less distracting than the other versions. The yellow "Home" area may evoke a disturbing image for some, so give it a good stare before committing. My only two complaints are that the board is double-fold and the cards are a bit thin. With the shape of the box, I was really hoping for single-fold. The pawns are easier to handle than the slippery plastic pawns. Would buy again! ... show more

  • Go Retro!
I grew up in the sixties playing this game. Hadn't played it in umpteen years, saw this 1958 edition and bought it. My last Sorry game looked wrong; it was like it was trying to be space age or something. This is the set I grew up with! It's very well made, it's inexpensive and it beats the heck out of just sitting at a computer screen. After all, the fun of board games, cards and dominoes is the camaraderie with friends or family. ... show more

  • Good quality and just like the old model!
We bought this to play with grand kids....wanted the old model so we didn't have to learn new rules. The game is the same quality as the older one, just new and shiny! :) We loved playing it with the new generation. Ages 5 and 8 loved it!
