Figured this is the type of review some people are looking for with commercial construction I bought these 3 weeks ago while supervising on a scrap ship got 4 of them for about $130 and they have a good audio quality and respectable range. Through houses testing in my neighborhood the audio quality wasn’t great about 2 miles out at the store however on a job site It does what I need. I work 12hr shifts and it doesn’t appear to go below 3/4 battery however I charge daily so couldn’t give a full concept of repetitive use battery life over a few days. I did however accidentally leave one on over the weekend after 12hrs on Friday and on Tuesday it was down to 1 bar. It rained pretty heavy this last Friday on the ship where the entire day it was exposed to rain and had no issues. For about $35 a radio I am extremely happy. It has an audio jack, usb charging port with waterproof caps and the magnetic charging station which usb cable splits into 2 usbc so you only need 1 outlet port for charging 4 radios. 22 stations with 120 sub stations per to seperate work groups and stay off other people’s channels. They aren’t overly bulky and their clips seem sturdy. I do kinda wish it had the knob for switching stations quicker as I sometimes put crane operators on their own station to avoid confusion but this is definitely a solid quality for the price. ... show more

Used these for a convoy of pickup trucks pulling motorcycles driving from Jacksonville FL to Laconia NH. Range seems to be about a half a mile (at least on channel 10). Sound quality is average at best but after all it is walkie-talkies and not stereo music. They are enormously versatile, many different channels and options (like "over" beeps and noises you can program to happen as soon as you push the talk button) that we didn't use because personally we just didn't like them but in a noisy construction scenario they are probably lifesavers. These were the best option I could find for a reasonable amount of money - and I'm pleased with the purchase. Arrived quickly, not hard to set up, etc. Ideally I just wish they had a case for storage and travel instead of only the box they came in; 4 walkies and 2 charger stations are clunky to transport. ... show more

We've had these for a couple months now and they get used every day. They have been a good purchase for us and I'm happy to say they are pretty tough little walkie talkies! We use them every day with our teenage kids around the farm and all of the walkie talkies are still in excellent condition. From a technical standpoint I like that they will buzz to get your attention when you haven't used them in a certain period of time. I also like that they light up red or blue depending on who is using it because it can get confusing with 4 people using them at the same time. With that said, it's sometimes hard to coordinate because we sometimes talk over each other but that's more of a user error than the walkie talkies. It would be nice if there was a way to prevent the talking-over issue but I think that's just a walkie talkie thing in general and I'm not aware of any brands that would prevent this issue. Overall these have been pretty great and are a lot better than some other brands we've gotten through the years. The antennae has stayed on nice and sturdy with this brand (Retevis) but we quickly lost and broke the antennae with the Dewalt brand. These Retevis walkie talkies stay charged for many hours even though we leave them on all day every day and only turn them off to charge at night. There are plenty of channel options to choose from to avoid neighbors, and we can hear each other very easily across 40-60 acres with some tree coverage. The Retevis RB48 is built like a tank—clear audio, strong range, and excellent battery life. Easy to use, even with gloves on, and tough enough for work or outdoor adventures. Reliable, rugged, and worth it! I don’t think any walkie-talkie has the range it advertises inside of the city, so keep that in mind. We use ours a lot with the children, riding their bikes around the neighborhoods or within half a mile to a mile away and that worked great.
