Contrary to all the reviews (which are mostly positive actually) out there, RE3 has a lot to offer if you only stop to look. It does depend on how you play, and I have already spent more hours in RE3 during my first playthrough on hardcore mode than I did in RE2. In many ways, RE3 is a much superior entry to RE2, which jumped up to number one last year in my list of favorite RE titles that I’ve played for almost twenty years. RE3 is gonna be my favorite now with RE4 and RE2remake following it. Jill’s is one of the most gorgeous character designs I’ve ever seen in a video game. Her attire is realistic and attractive, and so is her sassy attitude. And I’m just gonna say it—Carlos’s redesign and personality are just too damn sexy. Moreover, their relationship feels so true. The dialogs and character qualities, from when she smirks at Carlos, “I know how to use a radio”, when she reconciles with him, “I know we didn’t get off to a good start” and when they briefly part ways and share a longing stare, are very well done. There is so much depth to Jill’s character and others’ as well. The reimagined Racoon city is spectacular. The stunning posters and the subtle hint of the still extant life is remarkable, all the while offering a sense of foreboding, which is truly enjoyable. The world is highly enriched compared to RE2. Makes me stop and look each time. Moreover, RE3 has some of the best music I’ve ever heard in video games, especially in an RE title. It’s truly amazing. The attention to detail such as Jill’s ever-increasing bruises as the situation intensifies, is astounding. The facial graphics are relatively sharper than those of the RE2 Remake. Reading the documents in RE3 was ten times more satisfying than reading those of RE2’s, as they are much longer. The dodge mechanic provides a much-needed gameplay addition to the intense situations the remake throws you into. The perfect dodge and the dodge counter, which can certainly prove to be an exciting challenge to master and ups the critical damage tenfold, are extremely gratifying. I did have just one issue, or something that you can’t help but notice and that was all the jump scares and the realistically terrifying zombies that were new and scarier when RE2 remake came out, but a little underwhelming when playing RE3, but that was to be expected—nothing that makes the experience dull in any way, coz RE3 delivers a more intense gameplay that balances those scares. If RE3 had been released before RE2, people would be saying very different things right now. Lastly, I encourage hardcore fans to do their first playthrough on hardcore like I did to truly enjoy the game for what it is. This would then unlock nightmare mode, beating which unlocks inferno mode, and these two are infuriatingly and terrifyingly delightful, since everything changes and there are enemies dropping everywhere. They also become very aggressive and faster. Shaking them off does not have a 100% success rate either. RE3 is a stunning remake and a refreshing departure from RE2’s environments and for true fans the price never matters, but if you’re in doubt, pick it up on a sale. I can assure you if you love survival horror and a little more intense gameplay than RE2 remake, then you will love RE3. On another note, Resistance is loads of fun and do give it a shot. It’s highly addictive. Capcom have truly outdone themselves this time and are constantly demonstrating their prowess in improving upon their stunning RE engine with each new installment. Thank you for delivering another great game.

Why the lowercase "e" in the word FINGeR? You won't find out unless you play Resident Evil 3 Remake. Trust me, you will not regret it. I can't stress enough how I implore all prospective buyers to ignore the complainers and decide for yourself on the merits of this game. Those 4 stars are no lie, Resident Evil 3 Remake is a blast! RE3 2020 is a remake of the classic 1999 PS1 era Resident Evil 3: Nemesis. This game sees the return of fan-favorite, Jill "Jill Sandwich" Valentine who was least seen in 2012's Resident Evil Revelations for the Nintendo 3DS. This game, you play as Jill as you finally get to explore Raccoon City in the glorious RE engine. You will also play as UBCS soldier, Carlos Olivera for two segments in the adventure. Capcom addressed several complains that were present in 2019's Resident Evil 2 Remake. As good as that game was, it was rightfully criticized by fans who weren't blinded by fogged up nostalgia-lenses like RE2's rabid fanbase. RE2 lacked a good soundtrack, enemy variety, story related issues, and criticized for protagonists Claire Redfield and Leon S Kennedy not keeping in touch with each other like they did in the 1998 original game which, while did help create a sense of isolation, sacrificed multiple scenes in which the two grow to form a bond and also gave you a sense like one character had their own story going on while you were on yours. Resident Evil 3 Remake gives the fans a more well-received soundtrack consisting of tracks which remake classic tracks from the original soundtrack, more impressive enemy variety, and have protagonists Jill Valentine & Carlos Olivera keep in contact with one another over a radio, thus making their growing bond come across much stronger and feel much stronger with great voice-acting and chemistry. Yes, Resident Evil 3 CAN feel a little on the short side. That said, the game is actually about as long, if not a little longer, than either Leon Kennedy or Claire Redfield's scenarios in Resident Evil 2 Remake. RE2 simply had two characters with two "somewhat" different campaigns, creating a sense that game was longer. In actuality, the game feels shorter because RE3 is actually a linear adventure with brake-neck pacing. Considering the game is more action heavy, this works to the game's favor. You never feel like the game overstays its welcome which I felt was a problem with RE2. Yes, you may wish the adventure was longer, and yes, I too wish it was, but I feel you will be left feeling like at least the adventure was tense, fun, and exciting. The game features a suite of unlockables, ranging from infinite ammo weapons to items to two extra difficulties which REALLY ramp up the tension and may have you raging. In conclusion, the WORST thing ANYONE can do in regards to movies, music, books or games is base their decision around critics. Ignore that! Make the choice yourself! Play Resident Evil 3. It's worth it.

I've seen a lot of reviews Criticizing this game due to its perceived brevity. I didn't really have that problem. To me, this seemed every bit a full fledged entry into the series as any other of the releases. Besides, I'd rather have an outstanding 6-8 hour game than a mediocre one that lasts forever (looking at you, Days Gone). Plus-as with almost all Resident Evil games (Except for 6 maybe) there is a lot of replayability here. Resident Evil 3 continues the high bar set by the Remake of #2 last year. In fact, given there's really just a year separating them I was worried Resident Evil 3 may be an inferior product. That couldn't be farther from the case. RE3 continues the same high polish, gorgeous graphics and fun game play from the previous entry and I couldn't be more satisfied with the end result. I do however have some minor gripes though which come next. Now for the bad, or in this case-the annoying. I love this game, and I think for the most part it's an absolute knock out of the park, but there are a few things that annoyed me about the game. First, this game is soooooooooo dark. So many times I could barely see where I was going...and of course that meant that a zombie I didn't see totally chomped my neck despite how meticulous and careful I was being. Second, the zombies themselves. Continuing the "tradition" set in #2, they are absolute bullet/knife sponges. It wasn't uncommon to shoot a zombie 4 times directly in the head, watch it go down, knife it about 4 times only for it to get back up, take a few more shots to the head and still chomp my neck. Geez. In a game that's all about ammo conservation-do we really need to fill these guys up with more than a couple of shots??!! Also-I love the new dodging mechanic-WHEN IT WORKS. I properly dodged incoming attacks about 40% of the time. The other 60%, the dodge simply didn't work and it got me into trouble. That's all I have for gripes though. All in all, despite some personal annoyances, this game is OUTSTANDING on every level. Not too many games ship with this level of polish and completion. I never experienced a single bug in my playthrough. Sadly that's rare in a AAA game these days. Capcom has been on absolute renaissance with this series the past few years with RE7 and the RE2 and RE3 remakes. They are absolutely KILLING IT. I am very much looking forward to Resident Evil 8 and *fingers crossed* a Code Veronica remake. Please make Code Veronica happen Capcom, its the only main-line entry I have never played.

As a long-time fan of the Resident Evil franchise, I was eagerly waiting for the release of Resident Evil 3 on PlayStation 4. And let me tell you, it did not disappoint! From the moment I started playing, I was immersed in the intense world of Raccoon City, where the undead roam the streets and danger lurks around every corner. The graphics are stunning and the gameplay is smooth and fluid, making it easy to navigate through the treacherous environment and fight off hordes of zombies. But what really sets Resident Evil 3 apart is the storyline. You play as Jill Valentine, a former S.T.A.R.S. member who must escape Raccoon City before it's destroyed by a nuclear missile. Along the way, she must face off against the terrifying Nemesis, a genetically enhanced creature sent by the Umbrella Corporation to eliminate any survivors. The game is filled with pulse-pounding action sequences and heart-stopping moments that will keep you on the edge of your seat. But it's not all about the adrenaline rush – there are also puzzles to solve and items to collect, adding depth and variety to the gameplay. Resident Evil 3 (2020) shares the same formula as 2019's remake, yet differs in tone and narrative fluidity. The best defining qualities of this game, are simultaneously its weakest--truly a double-edged sword. ---------------------------------------------------------- [ Pros ] Story Unlockables Includes multiplayer game: RE:Resistance [ Cons ] Game duration Linearity ---------------------------------------------------------- [Resident Evil 3] The narrative flow in Resident Evil 3 keeps things going. No particular area or scene drags out too long and gives just enough before it gets stale. Although there are areas I appreciate such brevity, there are others I wished were expanded upon. But that's what this game essentially is, "safe". It doesn't risk being too much of anything, making it a bit lackluster in certain aspects. The game duration and linearity are by far the weakest points of the game; however, appropriate to the narrative's pace and direction. The story doesn't feel like it's missing anything, and the run time is just a factor of the reworked story and gameplay. Where RE2's keyword is "survive", RE3's is "escape"--thus defining the tone and overall feel. [Resident Evil: Resistance] Resistance, is basically an additional game (instead of just a simple multiplayer mode). I was skeptical on this new 4v1 multiplayer mode, but found it quite enjoyable. -6 survior characters to choose from (at launch), each with their own specialty. -4 mastermind characters, catering to different tacticians. There are loot boxes ranging from cosmetic to practical for survivors and masterminds, divided among levels of usefulness: Low, mid, and high. So far, grinding for boxes is within reasonable limits and doesn't require pay-to-play. There is, to my knowledge, no local cooperative play. ---------------------------------------------------------- [Summary] Resident Evil 3 doesn't hit the highs, nor lows, of its 2019 predecessor but holds its own as a fun and rewarding experience. It's an unapologetic, fun, and streamlined roller coaster that I'm lining up to ride again (3rd and counting). RE:Resistance is a fun multiplayer game in its own right, and I'm curious to see if it will be supported with future updates in the form of additional maps and characters. Overall, if you take issue about how features were better in previous games...then play those other games. But is Resident Evil 3 a fun game and worth your time. Yes. Yes, I think it is.

Good game. It took me over ten hours to beat on Hardcore, but still felt too short to me, probably due to how poorly the story was fleshed out. It seems like from the moment you meet Jill, you're just trying to get out of the city. You don't get any rescue missions. You don't get to meet any interesting characters along the way. You're just trying to escape. It isn't long into the game that you find yourself in the playable section from the demo, and there isn't much more to the city than that small area. Speaking of Raccoon, for a city, it wasn't very populated. Even R.E.6's Tall Oaks felt more alive, more occupied, and more of a threat because of all the enemies, and all the enemy TYPES it threw at you. Here, you just have a few zombies scattered about the streets (and other locations), and the Nemesis. Oh! I almost forgot about those forgettable dogs. There are a couple of those, too! Graphically, the game looks beautiful, plays like a 3rd person shooter should, and it even has a soundtrack that stands on its own. I just wish they had told a better story about the fall of this city. I wanted to FEEL Raccoon city going to Hell as it happened, and I wanted to have the opportunity to try and meet, and save some survivors like you could in Leon's R.E.6 campaign. More Nemesis stalking would have been appreciated, too. They did too well of a job developing him as a threat to waste him on a short section of one game.
