    • Better than the regular Hazy snare side Ambassador
This head has the same thickness as the regular Hazy snare side Ambassador. The difference is that it's made from a crystal clear film instead of hazy film. This makes the head more sensitive to ghost/grace notes, and it projects much better. Crisper, more focused. Almost as if your snare was run through a compressor and the attack/snap was bumped up. But this head is just as durable as the hazy head, if not more durable. Additionally, the head is shallower than the hazy snare side head. That's what the "no collar" means. The difference is about 5/16". This is ideal for when you like to crank your bottom head up high (like I do). With the hazy head, you sometimes end up with the hoop sitting against the strainer butt (newer Ludwig snares, notoriously), or the edge of the bottom hoop ends up sitting flush or even above the bearing edge, which means your bearing edge is exposed and can damage easily when you put the drum on the floor, etc. This head eliminates all of that. I've never been very good about how I treat my snare side heads, but I've gotten better over time. This head has been good to me. If you like cranking your snare side heads, it'll be good to you... probably.

    • The Best Snare side head available
The ONLY snare side head I’ll ever use! I have 3 Ludwig snares (79’ LM 402, Black Beauty, & a classic maple) and use these on all 3. It enhances the sensitivity tremendously and if u like to REALLY crank your bottom head, like I do, it gives a great classic Bonhamesque POP ! Great product!

This is NOT the head for the Premier HTS 700, which needs slightly larger diameter to fit. Looks like a good product otherwise.
