My son is afraid of pools but he quickly found out that he was not going to drown in this. He hasn’t been able to flip himself over even with rough play. He jumped in so many times and it never went under the water. The only cons is that the strap slipped off the snap twice so far, and the detachable circular float in my back must have gotten a hole bc it would not stay inflated. My son is on the bigger side and played rough so I’m sure that didn’t help. He stayed afloat just fine without that back piece. I would still recommend to purchase. ... show more

I would give this a 5star review…. But let me tell you why I didn’t. This is my 2nd purchase in less then 2 months. I got on to make my 3rd, but decided I needed to say something first. So the pros. My son is 4, tall and skinny(sz xl is perfect) , he has cerebral palsy but is not severely affected. Still one arm is greatly affected. He loves the pool and I was so excited about this product! It keeps him afloat and not even one time did he almost flip.. he swims around the whole pool and jumps off the ladder and is upright the whole time. It is easy to put on, doesn’t dig up his butt (padded and wide not a string) besides the baby like rattle balls inside it it is perfect. Buuuutttt there is one flaw. The “pillow” part that connects the back two sides easily rips at the seam and the air leaves it. The floaty them becomes unstable. As you can see in the pics, we have another hole in #2 and have tied the two ends together to create some stability on the back until the next order arrives. I still love it but I wish they would fix this flaw. So honest review? Yes but it…it’s great: but to to manufacturerer please fix this issue. He never leans back, this just floats behind him and it shouldn’t rip at the seam: also please take the rattle balls out of bigger sizes. It’s made for older kids amd makes them feel like a baby needing a floaty. Thank you for taking the time to read this :) ... show more

Bought the XL for my almost 3 year old great nephew. This item took over 2 weeks to get to me. It was confusing to figure out how to put it on. Then actually putting it on a squirming 3 year old was difficult. He has a physical disability and was not happy about putting it on. Once it was on he was not stable in it like the pictures shows. I bought this for my 3 yr old. She isnt very confident in the water even with arm floats and a vest... we tried this and she/we loved it. She was able to play in the pool confidently and because its a swim ring she had something to hold into while she gets used to the water! Its holds her weight well, shes a big girl almost 40 pounds.
