We used these socks to hike The Narrows at Zion National Park, along with mesh sneakers with good tread we already had. The socks kept our feet warm and comfortable, and fit inside our regular sneakers even though they were of course a bit more snug. The XS was a little loose on my 7-year-old, but nevertheless, he could comfortably wear these in his youth size 2 shoes, and he was very happy with them, both dry and in the water. The Velcro strap kept them in place very well and they didn’t slip down. I think these might be acceptable on a foot as small as a youth 1. Our friends with younger kids also had good success with high-quality wool hiking socks in the cold river water instead of the neoprene, since these are the smallest neoprene socks we could find available. I’m glad I bought these for the trip rather than renting footwear. This was a lot cheaper and seemed to work just as well for the distance we could reasonably go with the kids.

They were advertised as black only but upon receiving them they were gray which was not what I wanted. My special-needs son has worn these twice and as you can see from the photo they are frayed around the seam on the bottom. I do like the way they stay on his feet which is why I got them. He doesn’t like to wear shoes and socks and is always pulling them off even when his feet are ice cold. These stay on. Wish these came in a variety of colors to choose from. Would love to have them in red. Otherwise plain black which is what I thought I was getting but didn’t.

My husband has problems with extremely dry skin on his feet. So, each time he showers there is an extensive ointment/lotion routine required to keep his feet from painfully drying out. These socks have been great for his showers because his feet don't have to get wet and dry out each time. (It allows much more flexibility for the lotion routine.) The socks have good grip and are waterproof; Velcro closures could be better.

These don't look like they will last very long, but they fit my son OK and he was happy to have them on a cold day. He used them for surfing and they were comfy and warm. The strap helps keep them in place and avoids them filling with extra water.

They are well made and keep me warm, except for the straps. They did not hold well in water and kept coming loose and catching one another and my wetsuit. I tried to tighten them better but that didn't help hold them in place. This was frustrating so I cut them off. They work for me that way too. Might be loose for someone with skinnier legs.
