I bought 2 of these for having cocktails on the back porch during our scorching summers. At 92 degrees, and in the sun, about 75% of the ice was still there after 1 hour. However when I used them indoors (74 degrees), about 50% of the ice was still there overnight -- 8 hours later. I have other insulated tumblers, but they don't come close to this little gem. The lid is secure. As others have noted, the base is a tad short (I have big hands and get my ring, middle and index fingers on the base). However this certainly isn't a problem. I really like that it has a silicone ring around the bottom because my other tumblers don't and they make a loud metallic "clank" when I set them down on the counter. This tumbler doesn't. I'll be buying more of these for guests. ... show more
