  • Awesome
Size: 9 Color: Copper
Wonderful boots. I love the look and the feel of these boot. The leather is very stiff and took about a month to break in. I had some tight areas, I toughed it out and let them break in naturally. Given a second chance, I would use a boot stretcher next time to get over these tight spots, as natural break in just takes too long. My measured shoe size is 9.5, although I wear 10 in running shoes. For these boots I went with size 9. At the store they expected me to fit a size 8.5, but I found these too short, toes hit the end and too narrow. I was used to wearing running shoes everyday and it is quite a transition to move to boot. Even though they are much harder than the squishy running shoes, my feet and back hurt less at the end of the day. Overall I think people need stiffer shoes for the support. We shall see how long these hold up, but I am a convert. Go Red Wing! ... show more

  • Great Boots
The boots arrived today and instantly went on my feet, five hours latter and a three mile walk I took them off without a bit of discomfort or pain from the start they fit like a old friend not something that needs to be broken in and hope they fit latter. After nearly sixty years with Red Win Shoes having feet that were hard to fit since a child I learned long ago to get a fitting first then the shoes. I really recommend not going by your tennis shoe size and try and transplant that to an American Boot bought on the internet. Go to a dealer get fitted, see the shoe, feel the shoe then buy where you want. These boots I received were made 12/16 they are not 2nd's they had their inspection cert signed by Debra and had none of the markings the 15 or so factory 2nd's I have owned ( a small hole at the top of the tongue or a saw tooth area on the inner fold of the tongue) telling a dealer that someone had changed returned boots. The only reason I could see why Amazon marked these down is that they had previously been sent out and the left boot had been tried on while the box was beaten and tattered the boots were flawless and the garbage did not mind a beat box. If you want comfort and support especially on cement you can't go wrong and while the soles won't last forever they will be comfortable and can be replaced even to another style that will wear longer. Besides they look great weather you are old waiting for that Trout to bite or young waiting for the Red Head to notice you. ... show more

  • 1907 Red Wings
Size: 9 Color: Copper
Boots got delivered a day earlier than expected. Boots are very nice and color is as shown online. They came with 2 sets of laces, black boot laces and leather. They also have a leather insole. I ordered a half size down like I have with the 875s. Normally a 9.5 in Thorogoods and Van's. Look like a nice heritage Red Wing boot like I expected. I just applied 2 coats of leather conditioner to help with the break in. I would highly recommend these boots. ... show more

  • Great boot, USA made, genuine materials.. Get what you pay for
Size: 9.5 Color: Copper
As many have mentioned before me, these run big. I generally wear 10D in all athletic shoes, but if you have a Red Wing store close to you, or have ordered these before.. go to the store first! Get measured for this boot. I ended up buying a 9.5D, still think they may be a smidge too big. First, I thought these shoes were too big when I received them. I decided to wear inside my house for a few hours first before deciding to keep or return for a smaller size. Something that is very important to note... heel slip in this, any many other quality boots, is normal and expected! A break-in period is necessary for these boots. So, if the boots are completely flexing or molding to your feet, the only give are is going to be the heel. I've found a good practice is to lace them rather tight, not uncomfortable, just tight. This will minimize the necessary heel slip. Next, you'll find the more you wear these, the more you love them. They start to conform to your feel. They are handcrafted and constructed in the good Ol' USA!!! This is my first pair of Red Wings boots and I am sold. I bought these not for work, but for nice occasions when the wife and I go out. I do wear them often for every day use, but not for work. They are incredibly well built so would not hesitate to purchase if needing a good work boot. My line of work does not require a workboot however. Would I buy again.. yes! Will I need to buy any time soon, no I don't believe so. These are so well put together I could easily see wearing them for a couple years. Do recommend putting a mink oil, balm, or RW leather treatment on the boot. Will speed break in period as well as protect the boots. Great boots!!! ... show more

  • Yes there will be pain, and yes it's worth it!
Size: 11 Color: Copper
First off, I needed a FULL size smaller than I normally wear. I wear a 12D comfortably in every other shoe, I first tried an 11.5 in the 1907 and experienced too much slippage in the heel. Sent back for an 11D, perfect fit! Also a sole-to-sole comparison to my other size 12 shoes is a dead match. The first 1-2 weeks wearing these will suck, it just will, but prepare for this and get through it. Wear around the house for a few hours at a time. If you try to go for a walk in these during break in you will regret it, I promise. The worst part will be the blisters on your heels. Once break in is over they will fit like a glove. The footbed is a very rigid piece of leather with a cork mid-sole beneath it. There is also a removable leather insole. What begins to happen is that this rigid piece of leather begins to conform to your foot, almost forming a natural semi-rigid orthotic, which is the kind you want. The arch won't be as high as a custom orthotic but it will mold to fit your foot. Being a long time plantar fasciitis sufferer I was concerned about my custom orthotics fitting in these because of the height of the heel pad in the boot. I took these to my Podiatrist and she said I didn't even need to wear my orthotics with these boots! Awesome. Very glad to hear my doctor approves of these for me and my condition. Just fyi. Overall, the quality is very good and the thick leather laces are a nice touch. I used Obenauf LP during break in which did darken the leather a bit but they look fantastic. I knocked a star off because of the sole. Red Wing ships these with their own "special" custom crepe sole blend which I expect will deteriorate completely in a year. By design I wonder? I'm already seeing the tell tale signs in the outer corners of the heels wearing after just a few weeks of light use. I'll then take these in to be resoled with the Vibrams they should have shipped to begin with! So these boots should really be considered a near $400 dollar investment with a planned near term sole replacement. ... show more

  • Make sure you check the date on the label inside the tongue
Size: 11 Color: Briar
The intent of my review is to make buyers aware of what to look for if and when you order these Red Wing Heritage boots from Amazon. I'm normally a size 12 or 12.5 in normal shoes and also have a removable orthotic footbed that in place in all my shoes due to my high arches. I ordered 2 pairs of Red Wing Heritage Moc 6" boots in Briar Oil Slick from Amazon in size 11.5 and 11. I recently purchased a pair of the Red Wing Heritage chukkas boots in briar oil slick and the 11.5 fit me perfectly. I liked the chukkas so much I ordered the 6" boots. When I purchased the chukkas, the person at the Red Wing Store showed me on the tag on the inside of the tongue of the boot that my chukkas were made on "10/15" - essentially since I purchased the chukkas in December, they were made 2 months prior. The 6" moc boots in size 11.5 arrived first from Amazon and when I opened the box, the first thing I noticed was how the boots looked "broken in" and the leather was faded, dried out, and old. The first thing I did was look at the label on the tongue and noticed the date was 2011 - these boots were almost 5 years old! Yet Amazon was selling them as "new." I tried the boots on, just to get a gauge on size and found the 11.5s to be too big. So I returned them. However, if they had fit, I would have certainly complained to Amazon for trying to sell me a new pair of expensive Red Wing boots that were obviously old and not up to any sort of Red Wing standards. Buyers - be aware of this issue and make sure you check the date the boot was made on the tag inside the tongue - the date is on the lower, right part of the boot below the model number. It's one thing if the boots are a few years old and still look brand new, but the boots Amazon sent me were definitely sub-par. 2 days later the size 11 6" moc boots arrived and I wasn't sure what to expect. I opened the box and immediately inspected the boots for quality and the date they were made. Fortunately, the date was "10/15" so I was sure these were recently made. While the boots looked as if someone had tried them on before, I could tell the size 11 was perfect for me and the boot fit great. The color of the briar oil slick along with the crepe sole looks amazing. I've been wearing them around the house for about a week now and I hate having to take them off. Every time I wear them they get more and more comfortable. I think of them as more comfortable than my favorite pair of running shoes, but the Red Wings provide far more support. I am very happy with the 6" moc boot and actually find them easier to break in than my chukkas. Once you decide on a color(s), and once you find your fit, I think just like my you will be sold on Red Wing Heritage boots. I am using these for wearing in the office, out in the field (construction), and for style around town. ... show more

  • High Quality Boot
Size: 8.5 Color: Copper
Excellent and high quality pair of boots. They are heavy, but that to me is a sign of quality. They break in fairly easily, but it still may be 1-2 weeks of use. They are definitely comfortable in a 1/2 size down. They are a bit on the narrow side and the toe box area isn’t as big height wise as some other boots like Thorogoods. I hope to get these or Thorogood Moc Toes again as my next boots. ... show more
