Description

The US Roundel was introduced in 1917 and painted on US Military aircraft from 1919-1941. The design coordinated with the colour and style of roundels used by French and British allies. After the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbour in 1941, the red circle in the centre of the star was removed, to distance resemblance to the Japanese flag. This resulted in the US Stripes: a white star within a blue circle (stripes on either side) that is seen on all US military aircraft today.

This hat is too small. Made on the cheap with not enough material. Too small around and too short in height. May work for a child or teen but not likely for an adult. Most caps I get fit me so this should say one size fits less than most. It is a good looking hat though.

This is my second purchase of this cap. Clearly I like the cap enough to buy a second time but a couple of things to consider. One, as another review indicates, the cap runs small. I have a big head ( as I hear frequently) and the cap is definitely borderline too small for a size 7 1/2 head. 2nd, I’m also a sweaty-head and the cap fabric color bleached out and faded badly over a summer. Hats are always gamble with so many sized heads and shapes. A larger size would look out of place, but the size I got could be slightly larger for my head. Material seems like it will hold up a few years with my headset on and the bill is long enough to provide shade to the face. Velcro strap is holding the adjustment so far. Design is great, wish for more options on "stars and bars" covering the entire window of WWII roundels. ... show more

    • Nice Looking But Way Too Small
When I say way too small, I mean the whole cap, not just the adjustable band. It's like a cap for a child, not an adult. It sits more on top of your head rather than around it - kind of like a beanie with a bill on it. A moderate breeze will blow it right off of your head.
