It will fit the standard crematory container often provided by the funeral home but may not fit regular-sized urns. Being in the funeral profession for over 3 decades now, I have seen many versions of urn vaults and urns designed to function as their own vault. The requirements are simple: be non-biodegradeable and stong enough not to collapse once buried. I have seen this function performed by inexpensive and simple units made of plastic to units built just like the full size vaults for caskets that can cost over $1,000. This urn vault is on the simple, poly end of the spectrum. Upon opening, it is very simple to assemble. The cover nests into the base for shipping so you simply separate the two halves, remove the plastic bag containing the sealant and instructions, put the urn in the base, apply the sealant to the very generously wide flange around the perimeter and put the top on. It is nice to see that an adequate amount of sealant is provided to do it properly! Let the top set about 10 minutes and it is ready to go. While not appearing "strong" like a cultured stone/marble product or a concrete product, these urn vaults work on the "egg" principle. An egg is easy to crack on the edge of a pan but if you squeeze an egg and apply pressure from all sides, it is much stronger. This vault is the same. It is lightweight but yet strong when buried as the pressure is distributed around the unit as a whole. There were two unexpected bonuses with this vault: 1. The supply packet inside is secured by a nice foil sticker to keep it secure during transit. This gold and black sticker has a kings crown on it and looks classy. I repositioned the sticker on the outside of the vault so the family could see it. It took an otherwise very plain looking white unit and added a decorative and classy touch to the outside. Plus, it is a crown, a shape of royalty, a nice touch for the vault holding a loved one. 2. A PERSONAL CARD! Yes, you read that right, a true handwritten card from the manufacturer and addressed to the family. It simply caps off that personal service and care that people look for at a time like this. The manufacturer did not have to do this, but to me and to this family, it showed a compassion and personal side regardless of the role they played in the process. My family knows that their loved one is in the protection of and care of a product from a company that cares. Those little touch points cannot be overstated!

This was the most beautiful vault! It was the perfect size - it held a full-sized urn as well as a box urn, with some extra room for mementos (we buried both of my grandparents together). It came in perfect condition, and super quickly. Very sturdy and careful packaging, too. The loveliest part was that the sellers included a hand-made and hand-written sympathy card. It was so nice and thoughtful, and really meaningful to our family. Also, they even included a little tube of glue to seal the vault shut. Cannot express enough how great the whole experience ordering this was! While I genuinely hope no one needs this product very often, I do highly recommend this product and these sellers.

This urn vault was perfect for our needs. It was used to bury a small urn with memorabilia in a cemetery. The vault construction is excellent, the included sealing glue worked perfectly and it was just the right size. The vault arrived quickly, was well-packed and included a hand-written note of condolences. I wish we had known about this a few years ago for another burial where the urn was put directly in the ground since the funeral home did not offer a vault. This product and the Crowne company have our highest recommendation.
