  • Great Recovery Solution
Size: 6" x 2 Yard Roll
I'm allergic to most bandages, and this is now my go-to solution. Purchased for healing of a small tattoo - have since used to recover from a minor surgery incision that was three inches long. My skin has no adverse reaction and adhesion is better than bandages I've used in the past. Really appreciate that you can cut to size depending on what you need - highly recommend for tattoo care and far more. ... show more

  • Great tattoo recovery cover Great tattoo recovery cover
Size: 10" x 2 Yard Roll
Super easy to use and effective tattoo cover. I have used this after multiple tattoos. It is easy to cut up and the instructions are clear. It is comfortable to wear and the only tip I have is to make sure you shave enough space so peeling it off won't pull hair out. Otherwise it's really solid material, I have never had it rip on me. ... show more

  • Better than Tegaderm Better than Tegaderm
Size: 6" x 2 Yard Roll
I consider Tegaderm the benchmark in assessing transparent, film dressings. It is an excellent brand and probably has the widest popularity and use medical facilities in the United States. It was also the first transparent film dressing to be available over the counter (that I know of) I have tried numerous others, but Derm Shield is the first transparent film that I like better because it is the least visible. I'm not a medical professional who can assess this type of bandage for wounds holding an IVs and such things. I can, however, offer the review from the perspective of a person who use this transparent dressing cover small wounds, over hydrocolloid bandages and to protect fragile skin all over from face to foot. Derm Shield is marketed for a post-inking aftercare to help protect fresh tattoos. I cannot attest to its use in the situation either, so do not know if there any different things one has to consider when putting bandages over fresh ink. But I do know that Tegaderm has long been used for that purpose, so a comparison between the two might be valid. That being true, I would buy Derm Shield in a heartbeat over it or any other transparent film dressing because Derm Shield lasts just as long and the most invisible. I originally wrote this review after comparing for a couple hours but decided to leave the dressings on for a few days, so I could include information about durability in my review. I've taken several pictures that I hope will help others . The Tegaderm I was using was from a 2" wide roll as pictured above. (A much cheaper option than individual "frame style" dressings"). For the first picture I picked an area that is difficult for transparent film dressings to remain invisible: around the mouth where wrinkles and movement are issues. For this comparison I used not only Tegaderm and Derm Shield, but also peice cut from an Opove frame style dressing. The Derm Sheild was a little harder to apply when cutting prices this small. The edges seem harder to get sealed down flat. I'm not sure cutting from a smaller piece would make a difference. However, the Derm Shield film is the least noticable film whether around my mouth, on forearm or over the "tattoos" I drew on my calves. Because the edges were a bit more difficult to get totally flat, I worried the Derm Shield wouldn't last as long. However, after 5 days including two really long showers, the Derm Shield held just as well. The picture of the two films on my forearm shows that both brands had no problem staying on for 5 days. I included pictures of the two films on my calves taken 5 days later as well, but unfortunately I had forgotten about them and scratched my leg so the Derm Shield is peeling up more around the edges than is a fair comparison. However, that happened a couple days ago and I'm surprised it didn't continue to peel off. With many bandages once the edge comes up, it's all over. But the Derm Shield held like a champ. Buying this in the big roll then cutting it makes this a great deal. ... show more

  • Protect your art.
Size: 6" x 2 Yard Roll
This is the only way I heal my tattoos and will never go back to any other way. First wrap on for 24-48 hours immediately after tattoo. Remove wrap and wash with antibacterial soap (I use hustle butter brand) and pat dry with paper towels. Wrap again and leave on for 5-6 days. Wash and dry again. Then I use tattoo balm from then on. Its comfortable, keeps the dirt out from my job, sticks on well, and keeps the itch away. ... show more

  • my GO TO for tattoo bandaging!! my GO TO for tattoo bandaging!!
Size: 10" x 2 Yard Roll
THE BEST quality aftercare bandage out there. has a nice matte finish when applied so looks invisible and feels great !! holds well enough that all the nice juices are held in so the fresh tattoo can marinate and heal up. easy to apply and the rolls are big enough that any gaps can be patched up with an extra piece. comes off nicely and easily when following directions on the packaging (no hot water as it melts the adhesive and makes it stick to your skin after peeling!! stray adhesive can be removed by GENTLY rubbing with coconut oil and washing) hands down my favorite innovation in tattoo aftercare. I've been getting tattooed for almost a decade now but things are so easy now with derm shield. set it and forget it. no more itchy flaky stage of healing. ... show more

  • A life saver A life saver
Size: 8" x 2 Yard Roll
This was a life saver to cover and protect my tattoo. I had a lot of plasma and blood leak from my tattoo for the first few days after I got it. I called my tattoo artist, he gave me a new dressing, applied the new dressing, and told me to order this stuff. It can be complicated to put on, it’s like a tegaderm. I’m a nurse so it was easy for me, but my husband helped me since my tattoo was on my lower leg. It will be a lot easier if you have someone helps you so you don’t get air bubbles or wrinkles when applying the bandage. The bandage is also waterproof so I could go in the pool and I cleaned every day in the shower. Make sure you let the tattoo air dry before applying a new bandage. I removed and replaced the bandage for 5-7 days and my tattoo healed beautifully. Removing the dressing can be somewhat painful, but it helps if you hold the skin down while pulling it off. ... show more
