I installed this latch on my '12 Beetle. It isn't OEM, nothing went wrong. The car didn't have any issues, it latched easily without any adjustments. It was identical.

Fits like it should. Trunk latches and locks but doesn’t work exactly like OEM. Still better than spending over 300$ on the OEM part

Aside from the typical mechanical difficulties of working on a VW, this was a snap to install and works great. I didn't need to take a wheel off or anything this time, but I did need a totally unnecessary spline/triple square bit to get the latch off/on. Not the part's problem in the least.

I bought this base on reviews and the ability to get it the next day. It a little tricky to install it but there's a video on the internet to help with that. So far it work good and look a little more sturdy than the original.
