  • One of the best kits, but get an electronic powder dispenser and a different book
This isn't my first purchase of reloading equipment and I have had formal training so take this review from that perspective. Press: I've never used a Dillon but aside from that this is right up there. Negative would be changing the primer arm size if you prime on the press. Also the primers tend to fly around randomly when decapping vs the Lee press that reliability deposits them in a little tube. Quality is equal to the Hornady that is to say heavy and supurb. -0.2 stars for the priming functions. Dispenser: as good as any I've used. I have an electronic powder measure for max loads, but for cowboy or Target this is fine. Scale: it's a little touchy. Also the major scale is in five grain increments which takes a bit of getting used too. If SHTF and there was no power this would be ok but for now I'd recommend an electronic scale. Hand primer: best I've used hands down. A bit complicated to set up but much better than the Hornady. Book: unless you are really in to Nosler this is terrible. Hardly any pistol loads, limited powder, limited bullets. Stinks. Two stars for vaguely interesting articles on several calibers. If this is your first kit grab a Lyman manual with it. The misc other items included are nice to have and adequate for the purpose. ... show more

  • Nice kit overall
The reloading press works great. I'm happy with most except for a couple of things. The die bushing that comes with this press has a tendency to come loose no matter how much I tightened it. I ended up swapping out the die bushing for the Hornady LNL bushing kit which allows for quick change of my dies and a solid fit without worrying about the die bushing coming loose. Not a deal breaker. The rest of the accessories that came in the kit are all satisfactory. They are not the highest quality, but do as intended. The one real complaint I have is regarding the hand priming tool. I do not use the auto primer in the press as I like to have a better feel for how the primer seats in the pocket. My complaint is that I wish they would have made the location of the primer feed on the side closest to my body, more like my Hornady hand priming tool. When priming I need to tilt the tool away from me and to the left in order to keep the primers feeding properly. Again, not a deal breaker, but would be nice. ... show more

  • Rock Chucker Rocks, but Keep the Extras.
I've had this press for about 18 months now and run about 2000 rounds through it. Mechanically, it's awesome. It works consistently and accurately, and plays well with other manufacturer's dies, though some hornady shellholders are tight on mine. The powder measure is ok, but you will need the baffle to get any kind of consistency out of it. The balance is slow and tedious, though extremely accurate. The kit would be better with a digital scale for starters. The hand primer tool is pointless in my opinion, as it is faster and as just as accurate to use the priming arm on the press. Changing out the shellholder on the hand primer is likewise slow and tedious. The only benefit to using it I can figure is priming away from the bench, like watching TV. Honestly, I would rather have gotten a case trimmer instead. The hand tools all work fine. A primer pocket brush would have been nice. Is it worth the money? Sure, but buy just the press and the accessories you want, instead of a grab bag of things you don't. ... show more

  • Missing Part - Loading Block
I received the Supreme Master Kit fine, except it is missing the Universal Case Loading Block. I even have the shipping paperwork showing it was part of a large order (25 sets and 25 more just Rock Chuckers) that went from RCBS Oroville to Amazon in Tracy. . What do I need to do in order to get the Loading Block? BTW, I used a Rock Chucker decades ago and was quite happy with it. That is why I choose it since I am getting back into reloading. I happily used it for .223, 308 win (small base), and a few other calibers. ... show more

  • Bang for the buck! (Literally)
If you buy this do not think it comes with everything you are going to need to start pressing. Be prepared to spend another 500 to 800 to get going. This set is a really good value but very least you need a trimmer, a secondary scale for powder accuracy. You will need a die set (one set for each caliber), of course shells, powder, primers, and tips. A good set of calipers, and primer pocket tool. Then the optional things are even more. A sonic washer should be first upgrade. ... show more

  • Great kit, but only if you really need those specific items
When I bought this kit I was new to reloading and got this based on a recommendation from my reloading instructor. However, after a little experience I've found these are not the items I really needed. The RC Supreme press is absolutely awesome. I also use the powder drop and case load block. But instead of the scale provided, I found a digital scale easier to use. I also bought carbide dies which make the lube unnecessary. I found a different priming tool better (Frankford Arsenal), and bought caliber specific loading books instead of using the book provided. The quality of the kit is terrific, but just be sure you really need / want the items contained in it. ... show more

  • brushes and shell holder work great. You have to tap the powder loader at ...
The press, book, lubricator pad, scale, funnel, allen wrenches, brushes and shell holder work great. You have to tap the powder loader at the top and a couple times on the bottom of the stroke to make sure it fills and then empties correctly. Still haven't got it to duplicate the powder load to within a grain yet. I didn't even get to use the primer, it was broke out of the box-suggestion was to use a Lyman priming tool, it is a lot easier to use and is all around a better primer. Also ended up buying a better case prep tool, the one included is so small, your hand gets tired using it. ... show more

  • Very Solid
I haven't had a chance to use the product yet but it seems very solid, great finish, came well greased and packaged. Some of the press pieces came in a bag with other stuff which threw me off at first. Biggest thing I wanted to say though is in the description it comes with the Nosler #8 manual not #7 (at least mine did), and it requires two 3/8" bolts to mount which are not provided. The rest of the package seems solid as well. Everything came looking good, nothing broken or missing. ... show more
