  • 4.0 out of 5 stars Great trainer for my 8 year old
What a great first little plane for a kid or adult alike to learn on. Comes with two batteries which one alone provides plenty of flight time. It feels very fragile but can take a beating when it comes to crashes from a first time pilot. Has three modes for skill levels if you buy this our skill level selector was reversed. No big deal and easy to correct. A few suggestions would be to paint the breakaway prop a bright color like safety orange as well as the landing gear as they can be lost easily. Our rudder at the hinge joint has begun to separate after 30+ flights and fixed with a little packing tape. The original idea was to use it for parts for a 3d printed model but it’s holding up so well went out and bought supplies needed for that project. You really can’t go wrong for a first time plane. ... show more

  • 4.0 out of 5 stars Nice build, Needs only little tweaks to be perfect!
Received today, nice little plane, would give it a five star except for packaging.. The single package propeller was not in its place in the box.. It was bent over and took a set bend on both of its blades.. Have it in the sun to see if it will relax the bends and survive the Trash. Being an old school R/c pilot, I will also toughen up the wing and tail tips.. ... show more

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars Good beginner flyer
This is my second rc plane, so I'm pretty new to flying. I was looking for a plane easy to fly, but not a toy. This was the ticket. It is stable, responsive, and I even did my first loops! I keep it in my car so if conditions are right, I can do a quick fly at the park. It's easy and fast to set up and get in the air. I like this plane a lot! ... show more

  • 4.0 out of 5 stars Drone guy → plane guy
I've grown pretty fond of all sorts of drones, but this is my first airplane! I'm not proficient enough with the plane yet, despite the time I've given myself prior to this review, for me to comfortably capture myself flying. Some may watch the video and assume the problem lies with the plane, but I am afraid it's just me for the time being. Still, if you can find a big open space and you've got the urge to try your hand at flying, this small, bright-yellow trainer is a good entry (with one caveat). It's pretty basic and easy to get started, but you feel it's something you can actually get decent at, ie. you're not doomed to poor performance because of the product. That being said, in *some* ways, it's easier to fly with a slightly nicer offering because features may help compensate for some of your deficiencies. But do you want to pay 2-10x as much? Ah, beginner decisions, decisions. You can mull it over, or you can get one of these and see if fixed-wing flying is for you! Just find a calm day and, again, a large space. This guy cruises much faster than a beginner drone and is less forgiving. ... show more

  • 4.0 out of 5 stars interesting start but tragic end
I first got this i loved every single second of crashing and flying when i finally got it right. This comes with a great remote and is good for beginners to more advanced flyers. It comes with buttons to adjust the flaps if they get knocked a way. I broke two out of three propellers and tragically on the third propeller i had taken a great flight over my home and high in the sky and then i was just flying it around the area when I quickly ran out of space and i tragically crashed into the top of a pine tree. I lost my propeller and the plane that day and that was day two of having it so not even a full 24 hours. I give this a four stars because at one point the motor i think was getting caught on the Styrofoam and it stopped but then started working again and it did that a few times but this is due to heavy crashing into buildings. The only other thing i would change is that it probably needs more propellers to come with it i would imagine this is doable with the price it cost to purchase this. overall 4 stars because despite my brief ownership I loved the plane and flying it it got more fun when i finally learned to fly it good. A moment of silence for my airplane and all of its propellers. I hope this helps someone. ... show more

  • 4.0 out of 5 stars Good beginner plane
This is a three channel RC plane, which means it lacks ailerons. This is fine for someone just learning to fly but you should know this going in. What that means, in practical terms, is that you cannot roll this airplane. Turns are made using the rudder. Again, not a big deal for beginners. The plane is light enough that it doesn’t require FAA registration, but that also means it is susceptible to gusts of wind. The built-in gyro stabilizer does help with this, but don’t fly on very windy days near trees. The size also makes it a little hard to see when you get up too high, or too far away. I was averaging about 10-12 minutes of flight time with the included 1S batteries. It takes a while to recharge them with the included charger, so maybe get some extra batteries if you plan to take this to the park and enjoy more than 30 minutes of flight time. Overall, I would grade this a nice toy-grade RC plane. I haven’t crashed it hard yet, but I would imagine a little CA glue could fix just about anything on this one. ... show more

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars Forgiving and detailed
Hard to land, but designed to survive crashes, which is forgiving (good) for a novice like me. Who nose dives RC planes into the ground and flies it into trees. Any landing where the plane is reusable amiright? The breakaway propeller falls off easily, but generally lands not far from the plane. Multiple are included if you lose one in the grass I like the detail of the plane Seems less stable than larger RC planes, I recommend using it in assisted mode The remote control worked with my 1.5V lithium rechargeable AAs 3 channels only (throttle, rudder, elevator) definitely reduces controllability. While trimming out the elevator and maintaining heading with rudder is a valid way to multitask while cruising at high speed in an old Cessna (I’ve done this many times as a licensed pilot with commercial and instrument ratings), its a deficient amount of control in the low speed maneuvering environment of the traffic pattern or remote control. I’m sure good RC pilots can make 3ch work, but I am not so I prefer to have ailerons. Due to the small size its also harder to identify the orientation of the plane at weird angles, I would definitely recommend getting a plane with first person view if you are an untrained novice like me ... show more
