You can spend a lot more money and get more features on larger RC Boats, but no toy lasts forever when kids play with it, especially an electronic toy around water. Here is a relatively inexpensive toy, that can be a lot of fun for kids or older kids too. First the boat looks nice as it is, a little speedster for sure, then you can set the LEDs on various patterns for some bling. It even throws a rooster tail. But, being so small, if you go fast, you will capsize, which is normally a problem, but just wait a second and the boat will right itself as long as you put the battery lid back on tight. They include two batteries which is really nice so you can avoid the long charging pause in the action and they last long enough, most will be satisfied with two batteries worth of play time. The remote is basic and works well. Range is pretty good, I'll have to be careful to not outrun my range if I take it to the Lake of the Ozarks but no problem in a pool or our subdevelopment's pond, I can even use it from inside the house once the boat has been launched, and that's when the anti capsize feature comes in really handy. Only have to go back outside to change batteries and then to pick it up when I'm done. I like the safety feature too, the prop doesn't run unless the boat is in water. The battery interface/plug could be better but works and they include the USB cable making recharging pretty straight forward, just don't lose it.

Overall, I'm pretty happy with this RC boat. I'm currently using it in my backyard swimming pool until I can master the controls a little better. It's definitely been a challenge for my 8yo nephew and at times he has become frustrated, although a lot of that comes from the limited space with which we have to work in. Will be taking it to the beach to try out in the ocean once we've got it mastered. For kids, and adult alike at first, the best feature is the Capsize Recovery function. Really helsp when you're trying to master the controls. I like the battery strength, it seems to go longer than my nephew has the attention for, at least 35m so far. And so far, the range for the RC isn't a problem. We'll see once we test it out on an open body of water. Comes with two batteries, so plenty of power to feed the attention of a young child.

This RC Speedboat looks cool and is actually decently fast, it's easy to control even for kids and works well, I just wish it had proportional power and steering.

Depending on the size of your pool I recommend slow speed. If you push the left button for high speed the front of the boat comes up out of the water. When you turn on the control it communicates with the boat and the lights turn on. The right button changes the light pattern. I just wish you could turn off the lights to save battery power. You also receive two extra propellers, extra battery and a screw driver for the battery compartment. When I turned off the controller the lights still stayed on the boat. I assume that they would turn off but I disconnected the battery after 20seconds. If the boat flips over a quick left, right will flip it over again. If you’re at a large body of water then use the high speed after you learn to control it at low speeds. A fun boat that my grandkids will love.

I got this for my 12 year old son and we absolutely loved the entire kit. The boat seems to be very well built and water tight. There's two speeds to choose from. The boat steers very quickly and sharply. We also love the lights which allows us to ride the boat at night. The boat only powers up once placed in the water. If your remote / boat does not seem to work, please power up the remote with the full forward stick engaged. We got our boat to connect with the controller by doing that. Hope this helps! We loved the included batteries and the USB A charging cable. You'll need 3 AAA batteries for the controller. Should last a long time if you switch off the controller power when you're done playing with the boat. Overall we're extremely happy with this boat and would definitely recommend it!

Ready to run ASAP. Just charge the battery. 2 batteries included. Not sure if 40 minutes per battery or for both. I didn't get a chance to pray longer then 10 minutes. Love that it has a low battery alarm so that is very helpful. YOU do not want to bring this to a lake and this dies far away from you. It is always good to have others with a rescue boat nearby to aide in retrieval worst case scenario. I don't think a fishing rod with a tennis ball will help in this. Has a good long range with the 2.4Ghz. 2 extra propellers incase you hit a rock or something underneath. PEACE - LIVE - LIFE - LOVE - LAUGH - PRAY

This little boat is ZIPPY and a ton of fun to play with. It has a bunch of LED lights that turn different colors and flash as well. The remote is super easy to use and I appreciate the safety mechanism that does not allow the boat's propellers to operate unless the boat is in water. What's also amazing is that this incredibly fun speedboat comes with TWO rechargeable lithium ion batteries, each with about 40 minutes of life, so you get double the amount of playtime! This is pretty critical because not only will the kids want to run the boat around but all of the adults will too! This is a crazy fun toy that everyone in the family will enjoy. Just keep in mind that each battery takes about 90 minutes to recharge, so plan ahead and charge 'em up before heading to the pool or pond. FIVE GOLD STARS!!

Not so great: - The battery life is not very good. We blew through the battery in 10 minutes or less. While it has a second battery, the other one will not be charged in the amount of time you use the one. - Maneuverability is not great. It can make sharp turns, but it will do so without being prompted. It does not stay straight and is difficult to steer. - The cover is difficult to get off in order to access the battery. - It does not reach the advertised speed of over 20mph. The lights do light up brightly and are adjustable. They also turn all red when the battery is low which is a nice feature. Overall, a little on the small side and definitely has some less than stellar features.
