These solid steel shelf frames with heavy wire shelves are just what I wanted and they are already filled and sitting against the wall in my garage. They are easy to assemble in very little time. I would buy them again.

I own an art gallery and I needed some shelving that was super sturdy and able to hold some heavy weight while looking good. Originally, I was thinking that, being shelves for mechanics, these probably won't look all that hot. Wrong! These are perfect for what I need AND they look amazing! You really can use these to display NICE things! They are solid black...shelves, supports, underneath, etc...so there isn't any covering up make it look nice. They are super sturdy and the shelving is adjustable for the heights of things. It's more of a matt black, so it's not super shiny either. Again, great for displaying items. The shelving is a bit wider than normal shelf which, again, was really desirable. Definitely recommend!

Almost all the parts are metal — powder-coated I believe — and though the shelving is surprisingly light once assembled, I have no complaints about how sturdy and stable it is. OK, maybe the thin shelves themselves are a concern. They seem a tad flimsy when you handle them but they do each have three built-in cross-braces on the underside. Time will tell if the shelves can hold the objects I want to place on them, some more than a hundred pounds, without denting or sagging. Assembly is easy, about 25 minutes (with two people). When, after assembly, you try to move the whole shebang into place, GRAB LOW and lift. Otherwise you will lift the top half of the shelving clear off the bottom — they're held together by gravity only, via a plastic L piece that doesn't lock into place. If I were the manufacturer, I'd have included four 50-cent metal brackets, one for each vertical rod, that would lock the top and bottom halves of those rods into position. There's no unpleasant smell and the shelves look utilitarian — hardly beautiful but not too depressingly industrial either. I'm pleased with the purchase.

With almost 2 years between the purchases, some changes between the two are noticeable side by side. While both still feature the double layer thick column that I looked for, some parts, like the cross bars have thinned out a little bit and were a bit warped; once the pegs are in place and locked in, shelf lip feel as durable as the one bought 2 years ago. The shelf themselves still fit nicely on the bars. I did also noticed they simplified the column bars exterior as well but that may just be up to making manufacturing easier. Assembly was pretty straight forward as the first time. I remembered from that time to use my own larger Rubber Mallet, I found that the hammer provided was much louder, either side, to use than a larger mallet. The cloth gloves worked well and save me the purchase of expendable gloves later. I expect this shelf to last another few years alongside the first one, and would recommend for any garage/home storage.

Super easy assembly. They look nice ( I was very worried about the shelves looking tacky as I am using them for an open storage closet in my husbands man cave). The only thing I do not like about these shelves: when attempting to pick up the shelves in the middle (where the plastic connectors are) the shelf has a tendency to disconnect. This is a nonissue if you won’t be moving the shelves very much or if you just push/pull at a different spot on the shelf. Despite this, I still think this shelving unit is perfect. I love that I can adjust the shelves to different lengths to allow storage of a variety of larger items. I would purchase again.
