  • great
Looks cool

  • I have been wearing these for the past 18 years
I love them and whenever I can find a new pair I snatch them up. They wrap around my face and keep the sun out and the polarization means that I can see everything clearly no matter how sunny or reflective anything is. They are pretty rugged and last me years at a time between sets.

  • Expensive but outstanding!
Size: 63 mm | Color: 601/W1 Black Crystal Gray Mirror Polarized Lens: I think you'd know immediately if these were not genuine Ray Bans because the quality of these Predator 2 glasses is outstanding. They have some weight because of glass lenses but are completely comfortable to wear all day. You can feel the quality and attention to detail in these. These are big frames and lenses - my head is definitely bigger than most at 7 3/4 hat size and they just barely fit my face without being too large. The case has the Ray Ban gold seal on it and is good but I wish Ray Ban would design a case like Oakleys which stop the arms from rubbing against the lenses when inside. Otherwise it's a premium case, well made and includes a cleaning cloth and a warranty booklet and an Icons mini-catalog booklet. The glass lens displays the Ray Ban logo and a P for polarized in the corner. The other lens has a small RB on it. There are no injection seams or rough areas or defects whatsoever anywhere on my very smooth frames. The hinges are not the usual metal 7-prong but are the same material as the frames to match the style. Comparing these with Oakley Half Wire 2 and Flak glasses which I've had for years I say these are much, much better and I have no doubt they will last many years wth basic care. My previous Ray Bans are still going at 11 years old. The polarized glass lenses are what makes these worth the streep price to me. I've tried a lot of other sunglasses from higher-end to average over years and none have matched the performance and comfort of Ray Bans for me. The Oakleys are fine but seem either overbuilt to absurdity or very fragile like my Half Wires which have already broken twice at the hinges with careful use. The lenses just don't provide the optical clarity and definition that these Predators do. Not really fair to compare polycarbonate lenses to glass Ray Bans though and I still like Oakleys very much. These Predator 2 glasses have a serious appearance - my 12-year old daughter said "you look exactly like a Secret Service agent - if you lost some lbs and bought a suit." ... show more

  • they fit my large noggin comfortably. Yes
Downgraded for tight fit and lens color. I've owned 4 pairs of Predator 2s; they fit my large noggin comfortably. Yes, these were the commercial version of the "Terminator 2" glasses Arnold wore in the movie: "Predator" for a movie tag, and "2" to tie with that film. So I've read, going back into the '90s. The lenses are absolutely NOT glass, but plastic. The first pair I owned were constructed such that the side pieces made contact with the backs of the lenses when folded, eventually scratching the lenses. I returned them to Bausch and Lomb, who replaced them with the newer design which does not allow the same problem to occur. They made the swap free of charge, even though I had owned the glasses for over 2 years. My second pair's lenses gradually became scratched in heavy use, and after about 3 years, I returned them to have the lenses replaced. This was done quickly, but it cost me a bit over $50. I replaced them after owning them about 5 years when I lost them. My next pair I likewise owned for several years, and lost them into Niagara Falls. That brings me to my current pair, purchased in 2017. These are a bit different. The fit is a bit tighter than my previous Preds, which causes me to continually have to push them back up on my nose. Almost sent them back for that. I do believe it is possible to get them in a slightly larger frame size, but I don't know how exactly. But the biggest disappointment to me is the lens color. As you can see above in the description, they should have gray polarized lenses. Every pair I've owned had gray lenses. But these came with GREEN lenses. Again, would have sent them back, but I had ordered them for a lengthy trip and there just wasn't time. I don't hate the green, but I think the color rendition of gray lenses is much better than other lens colors; maybe color "neutrality" would be a better term. Bottom Line: The next pair I buy will be from Sun Glass Hut or another retailer where I can see and try them on. There's very little price differential anyway. BTW, I use these for everything: beach, flying (pilot), skiing and especially driving. Polarized good quality sun glasses like these really cut down eye fatigue. ... show more

  • These sunglasses are the best!

  • Ray Bans are simply the best...
...eye protection I've ever had. Owned my first pair for 20+ years until the hinges finally gave out. Went for several years using similar style less expensive shades but none matched the comfort and performance of my Predators. Just received my new pair and they are exactly as I remembered. • Poor optical quality, creaky frame arms
Quite disappointed in the optical quality of these "crystal" glass lenses. Without sunglasses I can read a car license plate from thirty meters in broad daylight. With these sunglasses I cannot, despite having carefully cleaned the lenses. Fit out-of-the-box is not great, frame arms always creak when I put them on. I returned these to Amazon, will be getting another brand. ... show more
