I upgraded my son’s old beat up glove and this thing has been awesome. Took a little to break in but it fits him very well and has served its purpose. Seems to be durable and once we got it broken in he’s had no issues closing the glove.

    • Thin and needs lots of break-in

First, let me say, this is a beautiful glove. It looks so good, great shape, very nice pocket. However, the leather is a little thin and stiff. Means that it'll hold its shape but the ball is going to sting if you catch it in the palm area. Also, since it's stiff, it'll take a long time to break it in properly. The glove is sold as a "youth" glove but it's full size and built same as the adult models but with a lower grade leather. I bought it for myself, for half the price of the Rawlings Heart of Hide models. I bought the 12 inch model. My hand fits in the glove just fine, the wrist strap is adjustable (just loosen the lace). There is a piece of metal or plastic in the thumb area and it does rub a little against the top of my thumbnail. But, after about a month or so of daily use, the glove is starting to feel pretty good. Not ready for game playing yet, I'd say another month of use should do it. If you're an elite player (like I once was) and you're playing varsity high school, college or higher, I'd recommend you go with the more expensive higher quality gloves from Rawlings and other brands. ... show more

    • Premium Glove with a great feel
I purchased this glove for my son who is turning 8. I wanted a high quality glove that he could use for the next few years. I am super impressed with this glove. As soon as I got it I started breaking it in using Youtube search "How to break a glove in with Aso." the glove breaks in easy and I'm sure will continue to get better and better. It has great holes for thumb and pinky for the smaller hands. I got the infield model and its great. My son likes the feel of two fingers in the pinky slot. So this glove is great for that. Some of the other gloves I researched and tried at Dicks seemed to be super stiff and looked hard to break in for youngsters. Just a recommendation when you get it put some time into breaking it in. I just did it watching some Netflix. I don't have a mallet, so I just got a ball and pounded on all the spots in the youtube video. Just chucking a ball in the pocket a ton to soften the leather. Young kids don't throw hard enough to break a glove on there own so as a parent put some time in. I would recommend this glove for a player who wants a really nice glove for a few years. Perfect glove for your little league player moving to the next level/travel club ball. The glove’s leather is stiff and does require break in, oil and work to get to a broken in point where my 8 year old can effectively use it. The break in work is worth it. My son loves the glove.
