The outer layer is already cracking open and it doesn’t fit well with a 2 piece construction bat where the handle is skinnier than the barrel. Other than that it’s a great product. I like it better than a weighted donut.

This thing is exactly what I was looking for, in that it helps me increase my bat speed, simply by adding strength. Truly though, there are many other ways to add strength/bat speed. One potential drawback, though, is that it can create bad habits, because the added weight can cause you to change your swing to deal with the extra weight in your hands. In my case, it caused me to drop my hands as soon as I started my hands forward. I'm pretty disciplined, I use a tee, and I use video, so I saw it and felt it. I adjusted for it, and now it's easier than ever to avoid letting my hands drop when hitting without the weight. Anyway, if you're going to get this and use it for live BP or hitting off the tee, be careful and monitor your swing. Other things to watch for are casting the hands out, losing balance (forward), and pulling the head and front shoulder out, all resulting from the attempt to keep bat speed up with the extra weight. My biggest challenge was to keep the mechanics, and allow a little slower bat speed while I used the weight. ... show more

I purchased this for my son’s Marucci 2 3/4, 2-piece CATX COMP bat but it would’t fit over the handle/barrel union point. It does appear to be well made.
