Comes with a couple of mounting options but no directions. Just look at the description pics or better yet, save it as a snapshot to understand how to use the optional parts. Bottom line: excellent durability with slightly beveled edges (so won’t damage wood bats unless you slam it into the holder). Two main mount options based on scenario: 1. Permanent Wall Option: use the flat piece and the hardware to mount the flat piece to a wall (stud not really necessary since hardware includes wall savers). Then add the bar hanger to the flat plate. Ignore the plate with the hooked lip at the top. 2. Portable Option: if you plan to use this hanger in dugouts or on a typical baseball field fence, then this is the best way to use it: set aside the hardware and the flat plate, you will not need them. You will however need the two thumb screw nuts to tighten the hanger to the lipped plate. The lipped plate should insert from the back side of the fence so that the lipped part is at the top and facing you. Now place the main metal hanger in front of the lipped backing plate so that the two screw studs pass through the holes in the bat hanger plate. Now add the thumb screw nuts so that the largest surface area is against the plate. Tighten to preference so that the two plates sandwich the fence and doesn’t easily move around. To remove, simply loosen the thumb screw nuts. Hope that helps!

I got this for my sons' baseball teams to use. The one my older son's team was using kept having bats falling off of it and it was a distraction. This bat holder is perfection! It holds super securely! Some of the backstops and dugout fences are super thick wire, and it was almost difficult to get it to reach through to secure it with enough clearance, but even with small amount of threading, it had a GREAT secure hold. One of the mounting pieces had a sticky/gummy type feel on the threads about halfway down. We tried to clean it up and it was tough for a while - but that's a minor manufacturing issue I'm guessing. When using on a fence, it doesn't get threaded down that far so it's not a big deal for us. It does hold multiple bats easily and they don't slide off if you brush by them in the dugout. It's such a huge improvement to the bat holders that were previously used. Two giant thumbs up!

The bat rack has versatile uses and could also be installed in the baseball dugout. I'm sure you could also use it to store other types of sporting equipment. It has a very solid construction. This bat rack is awesome! It was very easy to install, is super sturdy and secure and holds most of our bats. It’s nice to get these things up off the floor and out of baseball bags when they’re not being used. I will probably order another one of these so I can get all of my kids. Bats hung up on the wall.
