My husband and I had some roller skates from back in the 80s; stored in our attic for the last 40 years. We decided to get back into skating. Our teenager skates didn't fit anymore, so we bought new skates. We were discouraged that our old bearings from 1982 seemed faster and sounded better than the brand new bearings in our new skates. I saw a youtube video with someone who used Bronson Raws and the sound was familiar to me. So excited to have found these bearings. The performance is on par with our skates from the 80s. I’ve read the reviews that these slow down after a few days. Took them out today and they are as fast now, as when I started the day. These bearings are fast and so much fun to ride. They are, however, quite loud being unshielded. Small price to pay for the notable pickup in speed I experienced. I am very happy with this purchase and would recommend them to anyone ok with the noise they produce. I starting lubricating them with Bones Speed Cream and this was a HUGE MISTAKE! DO NOT LUBRICATE WITH Bones Speed Cream! They did make the bearings less loud, but there was tremendous loss of spin in that bearing, so I sopped. They are good to go out of the box, so learn from my mistake and don’t mess with them. Highly recommended so far. If they slow down considerably after a couple sessions, I will follow up on this review. Be safe and happy skating! ... show more

    • Good bearings but are hair magnets

I was curious about these bearings as I’ve stuck to shielded bearings for the past 12 years now. They’re pretty good, but they are hair magnets. From where I park, I have to skate about a mile and a half to get to my office. A few times now I’ve gotten to my office and a literal nest of hair would be stuck in one of my rear bearings. It’s a university, which has a lot of people walking around and mostly female, so idk I guess there is a lot of hair on the floor? Anyways, the bearings would be really slow at first after taking as much hair as I can out but after skating for about ten minutes or so they seem to regain their speed. ... show more

These are really nice for me, personally. I like a fast and smooth bearing. These are easy to service but I haven't had to yet. They take impacts well and make less noise than shieled bearings I've had.
