I bought this for my 8 yr old and expected to have to sit and help him like all the harder (1000) puzzles. But after 30mins, he finished it mostly alone. The hardest was the top part, when I stepped in. The pieces are all numbered, so it's really easy to start and continue the pattern. And I expected the puzzle to be cardboard for the price point, but the pieces are plastic. It's really pretty once it's built. Took him about 6 hours. Again, he's 8. Lights up nicely. My son uses it as a nighlight. He is obsessed with Big Ben, and this is the perfect addition to his collection! ... show more

Very cool 3-D puzzle! Put it together for my 3-year old son, who's particularly fond of clocks and Big Ben in particular. All of the pieces are numbered on the back. So it came together pretty quickly. I had the majority of it assembled the first night it was delivered. The top piece was the most challenging to assemble. But once it all came together my son was absolutely thrilled! The LCD lights worked great and added a nice touch to the finished piece. A lot of fun! ... show more

    • GOOD, BUT COULD BE BETTER IN SOME RESPECTS

I like that it lights up and the pieces are sturdy plastic. I don't like that some of the clear plastic inserts that separate one group of puzzle pieces from the next aren't snug enough. For example, I can't turn the puzzle upside down without it coming apart. If I were to bump the surface / table that the puzzle's on, I could knock off the puzzle group with the clock picture. For the price, I like that it has the LED box included and I like that the LED box has a setting for just bright white light and a second setting where the light box changes colors automatically. I don't like that the LED box doesn't have the option to be plugged in to a wall socket. I have all of the Ravensburger Night Edition puzzles, and I would like to connect all of the LED boxes to a single surge protector using small extension cords so they will all turn on at the same time, but that's not possible. As much as I like puzzles that light up, I'm not going to constantly remove the puzzle and the base plate to get to the battery LED box, then unscrew the battery lid from the LED box, replace the batteries, put the base plate back, put the puzzle back on the base plate, and then have to do it all over again when the batteries need to be replaced. ... show more

Grandson enjoyed building it and watching it change colors. He said the lighthouse was the easiest to build and the Eiffel Tower was harder. He thought Big Ben was the hardest And was glad that it was the last one he built. Awesome to see them light his dark bedroom. My 6 year-old loves this puzzle. He needed a little help bending the corner pieces and putting the very top together, but he was able to do a lot of it himself. He loves the light, too - you can switch it to a constant white, or changing colors.

We enjoyed putting this puzzle together. The only thing I wish it was made is a sturdy base the base wiggles. Other than that it's really a nice way to have a nice statue.
