This is a well detailed 1/43 scale second generation BMW Z4 E89 model (2009-16). It’s not 100% accurate, for example the scoop on the upper front fender doesn’t fully extend to the edge. But for the price it’s acceptable. It’s meant to be a toy for kids 3 and up (I'm a few decades older), not a "hard core" collector's edition. Detailing includes BMW Roundels on the sides, hood, and trunk, as well as the 35i model designation, which was the top model until the 35is launched. The wheels rotate, but the rest of the model is fixed. The doors, hood, and trunk do not open. This generation Z4 came in a variety of colors that showed off its lines, but basic black wasn’t the best, in my opinion. This one being that color is my one gripe. Almost any other color would be better, or if it had to be black, frozen black. That said, the Z4 was a niche model, so those of us who appreciated it have to be happy there are die-cast options. I had always thought that 1:43 was the size of a Hot Wheels or Matchbox car, but apparently those are actually only 1:64 scale. So this one is a bit over 50% bigger than that. They’ve done a good job with small details as a result, with the sDrive badges on the side fenders and clear BMW and Z4 badges. Taillights and headlights are decently well done given the size, and interior detail is pretty good as well.
